Cloud9
I've heard people talk about washed and un-washed shisha? What are the pros and cons of each? Never fully understood that. Under the review section there is Tangiers and Tangiers Lucid. Is that the washed line?? Thanks in advance to any responses!
Epoch
Yes, Lucid Tangiers is the "low nicotine" line of tobaccos. Lucid is easier to manage and acclimate, but original Tangiers has a bigger buzz and a little richer flavor. Usually we recommend Lucid to new smokers to help people adjust to Tangiers. jorlyfish
Epoch is correct, but I'd also like to point out that generally speaking, washed tobaccos will give less of a buzz, especially to frequent smokers. Nahkla, for example, is an unwashed shisha and packs more of a punch buzz-wise than a washed tobacco - Starbuzz or Al Fahker for example. Sometimes in review threads here you'll see a nicotine content %, which is written on the box. I believe washed shishas have a .05% nicotine content whereas unwashed have a .5%? Someone correct me if I'm wrong here.

This would not surprise me at all - Noir definitely gives more of a kick in the head than Nahkla.
Epoch
I'm not sure the nicotine content listed on packages is entirely true!
IainUM
yeah, noir packs a punch. im not too sure on how accurate the listings on tobacco are, but it is the only thing i have to go by
jorlyfish
Yeah, I intended that more as a basis of comparison... who knows how much is actually in there.
TheyCallMeDave
There was some talk on this, on how the listings for nicotine are not very accurate, but acurate enough I suppose. Don't let lucid fool you! It's a washed line, but it is STILL tangiers, and has given me a good buzz at one time or another.

Cloud9
Thanks for the response, guys. A co-worker told me that Tangiers (in general) is much better for you. Is there any truth to this?
IainUM
better for you? i would just say better. there isn't really anything about smoking that can be good for you. and i wouldn't say it is better for you than other tobacco's either. it is just delicious. jorlyfish
Maybe in the sense that it's not dyed like some (not all) other shishas are.... some people have a reaction to certain or all dyes. But like Iain said, I'm not sure how you could make it better for you.

Cloud9
Yeah...I didn't realize how silly that sounded until after I hit the reply button. Wednesday is the day. I have a 24" Mya Econo with a med Tangier Phunnel bowl, a diffuser and a Nammor hose on the way (Wednesday). Getting ready for (what will hopefully be) the ultimate smoke out. I'm going to buy some Tangiers shisha from the hookah shop...probably tomorrow. You guys have any advice and/or changes that I should make? Anything would be greatly appreciated as I continue on my journey for the Perfect smoke session!!
Epoch
Bring friends, or else a whole Medium Phunnel is going to buzz you to death.
