Cloud9
For the peeps out there who know this brand...and have tried the 3 different lines....can you explain to me the difference between them and which ones you prefer? Just bought Tangiers for the first time because of all the great reviews. I bought the Tangiers Nori Melon-blend. Thanks!

rahl071
Sure. The Noir-also called C-line, is unwashed and provides a hell of a buzz. It's also much more stable at low heat, and is tricker to manage than Lucid. Lucid, sometimes called J-line is washed. It has big clouds, is easy to acclimate, but it doesn't carry the buzz that the unwashed tobacco carries. Lastly, F-line-is caffeinated. As per the second part of your question, i prefer lucid. The weather here is crazy and noir has been hit or miss on rather crazy days.
TheyCallMeDave
You are probably going to get a lot more in depth explainations, seeing as I'm not the ocmplete expert on the stuff, but he goes nothing. Bsed of my experiences: Noir/OG: A robust, unwashed, tempermental tobacco. It must be acclimated (humidity ajdjustment, search forum for how-tos) properly untill all signs of unacclimation have disappated (bad/BBQ smell, inability to smoke, harsh/strong pulls). This stuff contains a whammy punch of a buzz. Some hate it, some love it. Noir seems to have a much richer, fuller flavor than the other lines, and I feel can provide a much more enjoyable smoke once mastered. I find that some of the lighter, more "whiter" flavors in noir are difficult to master seeing as the robust tobacco taste overwhelms the taste of the flavor itself. Some people prefer this, however if you don't, think about purchasing the lucid line. Lucid: Lucid is the washed line of Tangiers. It contains less nicotine, giving much less of a buzz if that's what you're into. Due to the style of lucid line, it can require little to no acclimation. I always let mine sit out for jsut a little bit, seeing as how the differences between my hometown and SoCal are. Although there aren't as many flavors, there is a decently wide selection. It runs a little higher in price, just for it's ease of use and washed quality. Although the flavor is still fantastic, I feel like it is just a few clicks below the noir flavor. Still a great selection, an amazing washed tobacco. F-Line: This stuff perplexes me a little bit. I've only ever tried two flavors of the stuff. F-line is a caffeinated tobacco, making the buzz out of this world. Really heavy stuff. I feel like it required a lot fo acclimation when I first got it, but then again, what do I know about F-line? I feel the difficulty of smoking F-line is not as difficult as noir, but certainly not far behind. Again, someone is gonna havbe to pick up my slack on this one, because I'm not entirely sure of it's properties other then through personal expereince. Hope this helped, I know someone else will come around and show me up... EDIT: P.S., I prefer Lucid on some flavors, and Noir on others. It all depends on your preference. I've found a balance in between the two, depending on which.
Kapten Kanel
You are probably going to get a lot more in depth explainations, - wall of text.
As people said: Regular/OG massive buzz, harder to acclimate. Lucid is washed, easier to acclimate, less buzz. F-line is caffeinated, dont know much about this line, is it washed?

I suppose I just meant that others were going to give other points I didn't touch on. I tend to ramble if I don't watch how much I'm typing... This isn't true for EVERY flavor, but usually a good rule of thumb is, the lighter or "whiter" a flavor (white grape, pear, pineapple, etc.) the more likely the tobacco taste will be more prevalent in your smoke when smoking noir. I sometimes prefer this kind of taste, but if you dont want that tobacco undertone to be too overpowering, consider the lucid line over noir.
