Who's seen it? I think it was an incredible movie that they were just VERY lucky to have stumbled upon. I mean, who would've known it was going to turn out like that? It really hooked me and reeled me in (no pun intended... okay, maybe a bit). Anyway, I found it to be a very rare opportunity that was a lucky "catch" to get on tape. Will definitely be one of those films I think of for quite some time.

I saw it in theaters (on one of the most awkward dates I've ever had)... it was really good. I read some interviews with the 3 guys (can't remember their names now) -- lead to some interesting insight about the movie.

i saw it not too long ago. i heard about it before online, then i saw the trailer, which made it look like some horror movie. so i downloaded it.

it was pretty good, i don't regret watching it, but i probably wouldn't watch it again.

i didn't think it was real. i thought it was scripted. but i could be wrong

After doing some investigating, I'm somewhat on the fence now as to whether or not it's real.

what i first heard about it was that it was a 'mockumentary'

What I gleaned from interviews and stuff (which, who knows how much is accurate):The relationship between the photographer and the little girl was real. The two filmmakers thought it was interesting/cute and just shot some of it when he would get packages from her and stuff... I don't think this is that weird for filmmakers to just shoot what's going on around them.

BUT... I think they pushed for some of these weird things that happened (I'm trying to avoid spoilers here) by doing things like driving to meet them once they figured out something was up, pushing the relationship between the photographer and the sister, etc. beyond what would have happened for real if they hadn't figured out that it might make an interesting film. I guess overall, I don't think they whole thing is scripted (portions of it are just too awkward to be, IMO) but that they manipulated the situation (both by taking certain actions and by editing) to make it as interesting of a story as they could... sort of in a similar way that reality TV works, except instead of setting up the whole situation, they found one. So, whether or not it was "real" is dependent on what your definition of "real" is.

I think you're right Jordan. That would make the most logical sense. I mean, didn't they think something was up with "Megan" only having 16 friends on Facebook? So yeah... But I think majority of it is real. Like you said, some things were "pushed" to happen a certain way.
