Arcane
might want to work on your packing technique. i've not tried code 69, but most other flavors are good on strength. how was your smoke output? if it was weak, you probably need quite a bit of heat. SB can surprisingly take a lot of heat. if your smoke output is huge, you may have too much heat. i found that along with a high heat tolerance, SB has a buffer of too much heat to kill the flavor and too much heat to taste like crap. Tyler
I smoke many different brands but SB has always been my favorite just because SB has without a doubt the current best "orange" flavor in Tangerine Dream. I smoke many other brands like Tangiers (both lucid and noir) nak mizo (og nak is shit IMO) layalina and some weird middle eastern brands that I don't know what they are. With that being said there are reasons why I like SB: 1) I smoke hookah because I love the flavor, and I expect what I smoke to taste like the advertised flavor, not like tobacco with a hint of "x" 2) I enjoy big dragon clouds of doom, which I can get with SB while experiencing full flavor, Tangiers can output some badass cloudage, but with the cost of flavor 3) I don't mind spending a few more bucks on a product that is without a doubt the most consistant brand out there. I know what I'm getting when I spend $18 on a tin of Tangerine and I can go home and enjoy it right away. 4) I reuse the tins often and they come in handy for many things 5) I like the sweetness of the honey based tobaccos more, the after-taste is enjoyable to me whereas Tangier's after-taste is bitter sometimes No one is ever going to agree on anything or everything, I love SB because I know it's better than most every-thing out there, but I know there's people who will disagree, but you know what? Who cares. Smoke what you like no matter what peopole say about it. Because at the end of the day there are some SB flavors that no brand can touch....like Pineapple, Pomberry, Tangerine, Melon Dew, White Peach, Royal Grape just to name a few. Other brands have similar flavors but they pale in comparison. But SB also has flavors that I wouldn't take for free if you offered like kiwi-strawberry, Apple, Cherry, Blue Mist (I still don't understand the rage about this flavor), Wild Mint, just to name a few. Every brand has its ups and downs

Arcane
Fusion's Mandarin is better it tastes pretty close to a mandarin orange, with a slight "juice concentrate" note.. Tangerine Dream is decent though, it's like a mix of Orange and Tangerine doused with a few cups of Sweet n Low... Tyler
I used to like Fusion Mandarin more but the last 2-3 times I bought it it was kind of like...I don't know...wispy? It's hard to explain but it wasn't the same
ezxen
Here is my chime on SB I like most flavors and they all mix well with each other. Price is not a problem for me as can cost 16.30 at the smoke shop less than 5 mins . The same as tangires across the street from the one i buy mySB. The smoke shop scross the street sells AF for 14 somthing but there range is limited to 10 or so flavors . As for length Shure its not tangires length but i can get a bowl to smoke for hour and half with flavor from a regular mod bowl. I think the main gripe is price and if the price was not right i be sucking down nak and af driving an extra 60 seconds .
Chreees
For the record I really like SB Pineapple. Probably the best and only flavor I'd gladly buy of SB. Yes it gives me a bit of a headache, but not as much as other flavors. It's so damn good. I just love the stuff. Social Smoke is the same way for me. Mobster is the only flavor I like out of the ones I've tried.
glider
a new reason for a lot of people to be hating on Starbuzz is the new light shed on their business practices. before i explain im going to say that i am in fact one of those people who HATE Starbuzz... hate the dye, the soup like consistency, hate the flavors ive tried, i hate the headaches, the price, the ridiculous hype... and now their company as a whole... Basically, Starbuzz has filed lawsuits to many shisha companies on trademark violations for flavor names. the two companies hit worst were tonic(meh..) and social smoke(never had it..). SB tried to sue companies over names such as "Guava" "Sweet Melon" "Double Apple" "Sex on the Beach"(and ANY similarity) and all names similar to Blue Mist and Citrus Mist(Citrus mint from SS rings a bell).. as well as some other flavors. a dear friend of mine made this information public to one of the other hookah forums. the information is public anyway. may as well put it all in one place for reference. Starbuzz subpoenaed him and had his information website taken down and the right given to Starbuzz and he is now(i think...) legally banned from spreading the information around. he placed no slander on them. only shared information and tried to start a boycott (which is currently still in effect on the other forum). anyway... since Starbuzz has money out the ass they can sue and deal with court costs no problem... not all companies can do that and i know Tonic has taken a MAJOR hit from that. basically that drives other companies out of business... btw... Starbuzz has several incredibly obvious trademark violations themselves. the logo is too similar to Starbucks. SB was sued years ago by Starbucks. they changed the logo. now. Disney is getting in on the fun with Starbuzz's Pirate Cave(cove?) flavor. turns out that the pirate skull is literally a copy and paste from Pirates of the Carribean. take a look at it yourself if you have a tin lying around. Starbuzz tried to sue Nakhla(failed obviously) over Sweet Melon and DA. nakhla has been around since 1913... how long has Starbuzz been around? shenanigans if you ask me.../rant Alex
shaffaaf27
dang the essays in here! my take on it, if anyine cares is that I also don't hate SB. I won't NOT smoke it, but I won't ever buy it in a lounge or if I have a choice of tangiers or SB, tangiers any time. once again as stated: price. Tangiers noir is 11 bucks a pack, and lucid is 12. (thank you hookahset). Secondly. I have had minis and aliens last from 4-6 hours when smoking tangiers, mostly mimon, where as starbuzz seems to die down around the hour, to hour and a half range. The smoke is a hella big on sb, BUT and this is a big but the flavour I find is, how do I say this, floaty. There is no depth to the flavour, it fees like air. that last point is a sticking point for me. The lack of depth to flavour.

Cloud9
Don't know why people are complaining about a washed shisha (starbuzz) giving them headaches. I've gotten headaches from Tangiers Noir, Layalina, and Al Waha....but never Starbuzz. Then people complain about the price...but in my area SB is cheaper than Tangiers. They may have bad business practice (from the article above) but as long as they aren't screwing me then I'll never say a bad word about Starbuzz. One of my favorites. I like to relax and enjoy a good smoke session with shisha that I can taste and will give off great clouds. It's very easy to manage, and like I said, in my area it's cheaper than Tangiers. Coleman
ok so i wouldnt say i hate hate starbuzz. Im not a fan though. sadly that is all my local smoke shop sells. when i run dry of tobacco i usually go pick up a bit to last me till my order gets in. i jsut find one issue....i always get a head ache...and this is really saying something because i dont even get a buzz from noir. but thats just what i think hahah

unwelcome
Starbuzz is good like otthers have said, but there are as good/better flavours out there, all depends on what kind of intensity, flavouring etc you like. More like a novelty item however, and not for the true traditional smokers who smoke af and tangiers! IMO
ChicagoRSX
Personally, I really like Starbuzz, I will make a sort of disclaimer, being that I'm still getting into the different tobaccos, so maybe in time my tastes will change, but for the moment, it's probably my favorite. I always get really thick clouds out of it, and with the nammor hose on my QT, I get so much flavor. Yes, it certainly is a bit pricey, and the packaging may have something to do with that. But I personally wish that Tangiers, and Nakhla, would take a little lesson from them. Before anyone gets ready to ban me from the boards for that statement, I'll quickly (presumably to dodge anything hurled in my direction) explain that. I do like how Starbuzz has the 50g and 100g tins. So, even if I buy a new flavor, and don't like it. I'm not wasting that much. Is 50g for $6.50 expensive? That' s personal decision, for me, I'm ok with that. I don't like it, I throw it out, and it costs me the same as eating at Taco Bell. Something I'm not going to loose sleep over. Now if I want to try a Tangiers flavor, I'm committing myself to 250 grams and $14 dollars or so. This is not much in terms of price for me, but I would look at that unsmoked tobacco and be kinda pissed that I wasted so much.(However since discovering the forums here and the fine folks that are on here, I could probably find someone willing to take it off my hands, so this might be a moot point). I also kinda feel that Starbuzz is kinda "idiot proof" in it's smoking ability. I personally have not seen someone have issues getting it smoking really well. So to each their own, but I consider myself a fan, but now with the purchase of my micro phunnel from another member, I am looking forward to trying even more brands. By the way, people who say the dye bother them, have any of you smoke blue mist, cause I'm pretty sure(i might be wrong) that it is un-dyed. Happy smoking all. I'm just now finding sites online where you can get it a little cheaper, but overall...the stores here sell Tangiers for $5 more on average than Starbuzz. Dropbear
Hmm. First SB i tried was blue mist. tasted like blue jolly ranchers, which i enjoy...this was at a hookah bar though so i havent bought a pack personally. im not gonna join the wave of haters because i think its a good smoke...but i will agree its a little overpriced for what youre getting. the pack of tangiers i just bought yields soooo many smokes out of it and it was pretty cheap for me, and it has a great taste to it too. i guess it comes down to the person smoking it...as an analogy, with cars. some people like putting blue lights in the interior, while others feel thats tacky and unnecessary. guess it comes down to the person "driving the car"
besos
Blah! SB makes the best flavors (Code 69, yuuuum) but their tobacco is alcohol base (secondary source, don't quote me) so it burns extremely quick. I always have to dilute their tobacco with Fumari's lemon mint or Tonic's Exotic Sex when I make fruity flavors. (Exotic sex has a very subtle flavor but smokes thick so any flavor you mix it with will dominate the flavor a little bit.) Taste great, smokes alright but terrible compared to other flavors.
