Loose Inner Pipe?

Recommended Posts

Got a Nawras quad hose from John a while back and have loved it. It hasn't put out as much smoke as my KM Wheat or Halzone but I thought this was due to the higher restriction. When polishing the brass earlier I had a tiny clinking sound when I rotated or gently shook the stem. It sounds as if there's a loose inner pipe? What are ya'lls thoughts and could this be causing the little smoke?

yup, sounds like cheap weld that cracked. Possible leaking air from just about anyplace. Check around the hose port, the purge valves, anywhere visible. Also try puttin gthe stem in a base, putting your hand over the top of the stem, and drawing directly on the hos eport, you get air see if you can hear where it is coming from. If it's internal you are screwed.

Alos, on a brighter note, don't forget the purge valve has a ball in it and will make a rattleing noise when you shake the stem. Try unscrewing the purge valve cover, remove the ball and see if it still rattles.

No purge valve, quad hose Nawras. I don't see anywhere it could leak and will try the vase tonight.

Would that be why it doesn't produce as smoke as my KM's?

Quad hose with traditional ports? Not auto-seals?

Ya im afraid it sounds like an internal weld break. Lets see how they stand behind their product. :)

What mush is saying is one point for Mya lol.

Easiest way to find the leak would be to plug up any holes, and cover any of the welds with soapy water and blow into the stem from either a hoseport or end of the downstem. Find bubbles and you have found your leak

Really sorry to hear about your pipe going down.. But if you hang around, I'm sure you'll see in our review sections about plenty of quad-hose pipes, and I'm sure we could help you by picking out a replacement if that's the route you wish to take. Feel free to hang out and just chat it up. Were all pretty helpful and can answer plenty of questions like this one.. Good luck! :-)
