Modding A Mini Hookah

Recommended Posts

High guys, I'm fairly new to this Hookah thing ( just started in Jan) and am enjoying it enough i am thinking about trying to enhance my enjoyment. I have a tiny little 12" that I can fit on a table easily, it smokes great when you manage the heat well ( two 3 Kings work well I've found) but the hose is rather short. I'm wondering if I took it to the hookah shop an hour away from me, if it would be easy to get a longer washable hose so I don't have to hover over the stupid thing due to the short hose length.

Anyone modded a Mini hookah to take a longer hose? Even a 18" would suit me fine. I think the one I have currently is about 14".. it's VERY similar to the small pumpkin hookah made by Texas Hookah.

This is what I did:

Take your standard hose and rip of the tips from the tubing. Bring the tips to Home Depot and find plastic tubing that will fit them. If you find tubing tight enough to fit on the tips, you won't need to glue them or anything plus it becomes washable at that point. It's a decent mod but your best bet is to either buy a nice washable online (razan, nammor, narbish, etc.) or you can go cheap and buy a NuHose (the second cheapest hose next to the Al Fakher washable hoses but it also has the best draw IMO).

And welcome to the Forum! There's a wealth of information on this site and the Homemade section will teach you some random mods if you're up for them. If they still make them really wide, you can put your stem on a plastic Snapple bottle and that will give you a bit more "breathing" room for water and a lower chance of water getting in the hose.

24"? geeze most hoses are around 6 feet(72")!
As far as thehelios' suggestion, I'd try it. its cheap and works well. Thats how I made my first washable hose

Yep.. it's meant to fit on a desk, the thing is seriously small, that's why the hose is so short! It's a mini, not a full size like the Mya or the KM's most people on here have.

Be careful if you buy a hose. With such a small hookah, a large hose port end will make your hookah unstable or just completely off balanced. I would visit the hardware store before I drove an hour to a hookah shop.

Where in NC are you located?

Yeah. Well if you want a small hookah like that a Mya Petite is good. Comes with a regular length hose too! I have one and it smokes as good as a QT.

Well. I'm not in NC at the moment as I am in Peace Corps, but I hail from Carrboro, next to Chapel Hill.

i have a similar question so i decided not to start a whole new thread about it,i recently bought my first hookah from amazon no less a tiny 11" model http://www.amazon.co...98035794&sr=8-1

and i was wondering if i can buy any hose to fit this model (its current hose is crappy) because i don't have a home depot in my country much less a tobacco store that i can just walk into and buy one hell customs did not even want to release the hookah to me because they did not know what it was.so i don't want to buy a hose and get stuck with one that does not fit.

thanks alot for all your help

p.s this is one of the most helpful forums i have ever been on

that's why i would recommend a nuhose. unmatched flow, washable, and extremely light so you won't have to worry about anything tipping over. coals + tabletop = catastrophe

THAT is a pumpkin.

Any regular hookah hose will fit on it. Or do what was suggested, use the ends off the hose you have and look around for some flexible tubing you can use in between.
