Chreees
Yeah I limited myself to only smoking when the fiance isn't home. For two reasons... 1) She doesn't like it anyway, and 2) I use less supplies this way, meaning I don't have to make orders as often. My set days for smoking are Thursday and Sunday, my days off work. liquidglass
Well I used to smoke only with friends a few nights a week at most now I do it just about every day but it's normally only one small phunnel of tangiers for a few hours and i'm done. late at night to unwind and get some work done. I haven't noticed any negative physical effects as of yet working out, but once I do I'll cut it down.

Rani
Chances are you (all of you) are just going to a phase where you smoke more than you will say a month, or two months, etc. from now. Everything goes in cycles. I would say that if someone smokes more than a couple bowls everyday for more than a year, they might want to wonder why, but other than that, don't sweat it, and trust your body and your interest to cycle it like every else. no longer welcome
Lately I've been wanting to smoke it up every night !! I feel like that's too often. What do I dooooooo
welcome to the club gigi, membership has it's priveledges. everything will be ok from here on out. words to the wise when you smoke every night, cleanliness is the most important thing, make sure to clean your hookah before each use, changing the water and scrubbing the inside of the piep (for some people that's not obvios, and i have been known to skip between sessions too, it's just wrong) then coal choice is extremely important, if you are using ql's for convenience switch over to nats, just do it. then shisha choice is important too, i find that some of the brands out there have too much, idk, sumtin in them, whether it's flavoring or the wrong amount of glycerin, or other chemical, idk, if you smoke them nightly you coulkd get sore throats and headaches, at least for me. now, i like to try these brands once in awhile becasue the flavors are great and tempting...but just once in awhile. I stick to nakhla and tangeiors becasue i "feel" (meaning no real proof) that they are the "cleaner" brands. at least i don't get "headaches" nor sore throats from smoking them nightly. Stick by those rules and you shoudl be as good of a nighly hookah smoker as they come, John

People have been smoking literally thousands of years. Yet we only started having problems as we started adding modern "stuff" to the mix. It seems to be a common theme. The more we mess around with something Mother Nature provided, the more we completely screw it up and ourselves in the bargain. It's not any different from pre-packaged fast food. People going back to a more primitive diet lose weight and have dramatic health improvements. Muck around with what Nature in her wisdom gave us and you pretty much fuck yourself over. All and all, it's why I tend to stick to the older more natural brands. I have zero need to look in a tub of tobacco and see neon red coloring. ';Rani
That is one of the most ridiculous things I have heard on this forum. Firstly what does smoking for thousands of years, have to do with anything? What was the lifespan of most people a thousand years ago? Tangiers is an older brand?
Lifespan is always based on the average. Figured into the average would be all those things like smallpox that wiped out entire villages including children, getting eaten by lions, falling off a cliff during hunting, whatever. Everything under the sun. According to anthropologists assuming lack of epidemic and accident, actual lifespan for any individual would be consist with what it is today. Modern medicine and reduced exposure to accidents, (and hungry lions) has extended the overall average lifespan. But the individual lifespan remains consistent. I'm Native American and grew up in a smoking society, but cigarettes were not the norm. Home grown natural tobacco was. And incidents of lung cancer were extremely rare. Nor is there an extensive history of lung cancer among Native Americans until such time as the extensive use of cigarettes became part of reservation life. I didn't say anything about Tangiers, but most of us consider it an older brand because it's made like an older brand. No dye, and no unnecessary additives. That makes it closer to traditional brands. You don't have to believe it. You're certainly entitled to your beliefs, but I stand by my statement that the more we screw around with traditional and nature given foods and even medicines the more we endanger ourselves. Did you know for instance that aspirin was originally made from willows? We know now aspirin thins the blood. But the original willow tea, which has the same pain relieving properties as modern aspirin, does not? 'Rani
kcK
Personally, I work from 3pm to 11:30 at night, and nothing relieves the pain of standing up for 8 hours, bending, stooping, reaching and other various things related to my job... Quite like a nice bowl of Nakhla, properly diffused through my Mya QT. eBook optional :-P And.. Yeah, sometimes when I'm smoking I think to myself... Fuck, I could be killing myself... But we do what we enjoy and we pass on to whatever next. Why be so protective when we all pass on to whatever bliss we consider the afterlife to be?
