Grant
I am having a bit of trouble clearing the base of smoke when I blow on the hose. When I blow, air will come out of the bowl and the release valve. I can hear the ball bearing rattling, but smoke remains in the base. I checked, and the hookah is air-tight. Any ideas? Halon
Does all the smoke stay in the base? Or just some? A lot of times some smoke will stay in the bottom of the base. TYLER
Grant
Most, I guess. I find it strange because all the other hookahs I have smoked have the ability to clear the base out and you can see the smoke coming from the valve, even my girlfriend's MYA QT I just bought along with my MYA Crimson (the one I am having trouble with). Lakemonster
Depends on which hookah you got. If it s a MYA. then I dont think so. they have different purge valves I believe. If yours is a MYA. then I will have to wait till UPS gets here today to see how to increase the flow.
Grant
It is a MYA "Crimson" from hookah-shisha.com.
Lakemonster
Ok... if memory serves me right. there are like 4 small holes on the cap of that valve that face back toward the stem right? So if you blow the smoke out...... the smoke shoots back on the stem?
Sonthert
Here's a diferent idea, unscrew the valve top. Some are two piece designs, the main piece that screws into the hookah and a smaller piece that screws down into the main piece that limits the travel of the ball bearing. If you have a two piece design purge valve, unscrew the second piece a couple of turns. See if that helps. If it is a one piece design or the unscrewing doesn't help, take the entire valve assembly off, and pry out the ball bearing, carefully. Don't drop it! It likely looks black and caked on. Rub it between your thumb and finger or wipe it off in a towel or even soak it in vinegar for twenty minutes.
