Rare Hookah Owners Thread

Its been a while since I've started a meaningful topic and HJ inspired me on this one.

Post your rarer hookahs here. Please include pics in the post and if you know the brand and model, please put that as well. KMs, MZs(I know they are still for sale on the web and not that rare, yet...but they are no longer produced so I think they count),Syrians, Lebanese, Turkish, antiques...anything that you are pretty sure is rare


I'll start with one of my three and get the others up at another time...

This is my antique hookah. It is a travel hookah, I've walked the trails of Pittsburgh while smoking it. It is Hindi and of course a tombac pipe. I have smoked tombac out of it back when I was more of a rookie and there is a video or two of it on my blogtv channel(same username).
It was guesstimated to be circa 1920.
I have seen it on Ebay before, except the one I saw was painted and missing the stem, bowl, and hose port...it was selling for $500.
Mine did have the original stem, but it went bad(its wood) so my friend's dad made me an exact replica and tossed the old(its condition it wasn't worth keeping it even with collectors value).
As you will see, there is a dent in it, it came that way.
Also, these pictures were taken a while ago(its at home so I don't risk getting it stolen here at college)...if you look closely you should be able to see the beautiful etchings that cover it.


How I can across it. Back in my highschool days I was in a rebellion phase and did certain things I've since grown out of. Hookah replaced those things and I'm glad I found it. Anyway...I spotted it in a headshop 8 years ago or so. When I really got into hookah, I remembered seeing it there and went back to see if they still had it and were willing to sell it. They did. They told me that the previous owner of the building left it there and it was their store mascot...I talked them into selling it to me for $60(they wanted $90 but I bitched that the hose port was stripped/loose and there was a big dent, good sweet talking eh?)

I'm thinking about asking my roommate to take the pics of my MZ and KM King Tut since photography is his thing and my pics probably wouldn't do them justice.

Thanks man. Favorite vase I've ever had.

As for the IMG code- on Imageshack, look over to the side, and click Embed, then copy/paste the "Forum" link. Feel free to take out the "Uploaded with Imageshack" thing though before you hit submit on your post. I use Photobucket, as I find it easier. It actually calls the Image code "IMG" and doesn't add the silly little advertisement automatically, haha.

Rare hookah is on the way left. That is a Hookah Bros. 4-hose Typhoon. It was apparently a subsidiary or front for MZ in the early 2000's and they were based in Las Vegas IIRC. This one is dated 2000 according to the glass base.

I picked this up for $20 from a guy who cleaned out garages and had no freaking clue what the hell it was. Quite a steal if you ask me. The thing is built like a rock!

Well then mine is SUPER rare not only is it an "og" OG Tri but I also have REAL jumbo bohemian vase. I bought hookah from HC around 3 1/2 years ago, and the vase from eric like a year and a half ago. I know Eric has the only jumbo boho left in retail existence (Mine was the 2nd to last). Last time I asked him how much he wanted for it he said around 160 just for the vase.

I dont think i'd ever sell my hookah and certainly not the vase.

Thanks, Ive always love those vases but never wanted to spend the 50$ from HC, Then when they were gone the price SKYROCKETED. I only paid 80 for it but not its worth 2x that. Kinda sad really. But its my dream setup and ive never even thought about getting rid of it.

Old ('05-'06?) Nour Syrian on a Nizbor Bohemian vase. Still the nicest vase I have been able to get my grubby little hands on.

I guess the newly found Nawras models are pretty rare in general, but not really around here since many of us scored them when John got that supply. I have some harder to find KMs too, but I dont really consider most KMs to be [B]that[/B] rare since none of them are too hard to find if you try hard enough.

That's the nicest vase I've ever seen, I think. Goes great with the nour stem. Also, how did you get the stem that shining? Mine was almost like that when I got it, but time has taken it's toll. And I'm always afraid I'll damage the coating if I use any "effective" cleaning products.

I have the same one (with the same vase), and it's a real beaut. Smokes just as good as my KM Hafa, and since it's a bit quieter it's been my go-to-hookah for the last couple of years. Might put some pics up if I ever get around to shining it up a little, but yours did it justice. Edited February 26, 2011 by Balthazar

only Syrian I ever owned...it was weird that the shop had it, they only stock Myas(like three models, its a Mediterranean market)...I think I payed $30 for it...one of the most beautiful pipes I've owned

Was trying to get a hold of some brasso last summer (for shining up some of my razors). No luck in this part of the world, though.

Also, in a sudden burst of inspiration I decided to give my polishing clean a shot at shining up my Nour. Pretty happy with the results.

This was my first Hookah. A Raven II from hookahhook.com The base cracked a few years ago and I've never found a replacement like it.
