Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I bought this hookah from a man in Germany and I can't figure out what it is? Any hookah id experts out there? Thanks in advance!

Parts of it (wind cover, base, stem minus the blue stuff in the middle) look exactly like my generic Egyptian. Mine is a great pipe, I hope yours is too.

Are there 2 tiny bubbles floating in your picture?

Thanks guys. I figured it was just a standard something. I bought it from a hookah lounge that got shut down in Regensburg, Germany. It was only 40 euro. I think I got a bargain! I added the Nammor hose and also a Mystique Ice Tip (not shown). Also hand made satin hose cover. It a great hookah. The end of the stem already had a cone piece welded on ( I suppose as a diffuser) and I added the Heba Diffuser. It's so quiet.

Thanks again guys!

The "bubbles" are the snaps holding the hose cover on I'd bet.

Makes sense, but I wonder why the OP didn't say that. If that's what they are, he should've known and said so.

Sorry guys I must have been looking somewhere else. I was going to say "what bubbles" because I didn't see anything. But I see what you mean now. Yes those are the snap buttons I put on the end of the hose cover. Sorry I didn't reply before. Just didn't see them. I'm getting old

yea. definitely a generic hookah. However I'm super pleased with it, It smokes just as good as any of my friends hookahs. Super smooth, easy draw, and keeps smoke cool. I definitely want to get a new hookah, but I'll definitely keep this in my arsenal to smoke from.

You guys act as if there is an ACME hookah company. There is a producer of the hookah, we just dont know who it is. Are there any engravings that might give any more insight?

Nope. That was my original problem. There are absolutely no marks whatsoever. But like I said, it really doesn't bother me. I just thought someone might be able to id it from looks alone. I haven't really seen any other hookahs with my stem, but I'm sure there are.

Looks mildly similar to a Temsah to me..

i was gonna say that, but the wood/acrylic piece in the middles are styled differently and the metal piece above OP's hookah isn't flared nearly as much as the temsaah's.

i've seen a fare share of no-named egyptian hookahs at a local lounge, and it seems that there are a few designs that everyone just rips off of everyone else:

temsaah and KM both produced a shamadaan/kefae/candlestick model that are basically identical (the KM one even has the temsaah style hose port - not the usual KM one).

they both produced a very similar design to the KM butterfly/hafa

i've seen another no-name hookah that has a design almost identical to what some retailers here were calling the KM omdah

they're all basically the same shit. for some reason though, in the US, if it says خليل مامون anywhere on the pipe you can charge 100+ for it....

Yea. I would have gotten a KM, but at the time in Germany I just needed a hookah to smoke with friends. And like I said, for 40 euros, I couldn't really pass it up. I definitely do not regret my purchase. To me, if it smokes well, and holds up to regular use, and you like the way it looks, then it's worthy of buying. It's just like buying a car. You can find cheaper, more reliable cars versus super expensive cars that break down more often. But you pay for the name. My hookah held up 3 years in a hookah lounge, I think it's going to last me and my friends smoking daily.

Don't get me wrong though...I'm definitely looking around for a nice, older, used KM :nyam1:

Forgot to add my only con for my hookah is that it doesn't have a platform the ashtray sits on. It's just the top of the hookah, like a dished out shape that the tray fits on. So when my friends whack their pipes on it (giggity) to get the tobacco out, the tray tips sideways a little.
