cotsi95
about 16-24 coals (golden canary japs) I smoke tangiers noir on a mini phunnel for about 4-6 hours
TheyCallMeDave
Using a small tangiers phunnel bowl and either coconaras or CH natural coals, Depending on the tobacco, I could use anywhere from 4-5, all the way up to 9 or 10 if I get the heat distributed well. Drier tobaccos will tend to cook quicker. Nakhla I will use about 2-3, and then 1 or two more to finish it off. Wetter brands, especially tangiers, will get 2-3 coals, and continuing to use 2-3 coals each round until it is fully cooked.

Jesse
With Goldens, about 2-3 depending on if i am smoking indoors. My 3K's are the small ones, so i have to use 2 to start and sometimes i don't take one off but leave both on, which actually works well with the Nakh Vanilla i mixed with some mint. Naklha likes heat. With AF, it seems to like a lot of heat to start, but near the end you need to take a coal off to keep it from getting harsh from too much heat. EAK1791
I'd say I normally go through 4-6, 2 at a time on a small phunnel with a tealight mod. After that, I start to lose flavor, or I'm just done. Though I have been known to go though 8-10.
