The Gift Of A New Hookah

Recommended Posts

So my birthday is in about a week and my gf told me tonight that her present to me is a hookah, but for me to pick it out because i'm picky

What i'm looking for is a step up from my current mya acrylic that has been going strong. She said nothing over $200, so there's a ceilingPreferably a two hose that can break down into a case or duffle bag as mine does now. I kinda want a KM because of all the positive talk about them but idk how much they break down, if at all.

Here's the links to the main hookahs i'm looking at. If you guys have any input on these ones or can suggest another pipe i should check out it would be much appreciated.

Mya Gyro

KM ozomah (one hose, but a beaut)

http://www.hookahcompany.com/ed_hardy_black_panther_hookah_4865_prd1.htm
.......oh i kid, i just couldn't help myself

also, i'm thinking of adding to her ceiling with money of my own to get a colossus since i have a crush on them

Any input on these hookahs or any other hookah suggestions would be awesome guys. Open my eyes to mooooooore hookahs.

Any of the hookahs you've listed above seem like good choices. I'm not to sure about that ed hardy hookah though, maybe someone else can chime in on those. I've recently been really wanting to pick up this hookah:

http://hookahjohn.com/KM-Kamanja-WHEAT-Artist-Double-Heart-2076T.htm

I think it's beautiful.

Also been wanting a Syrian as well, like a nawras or a nour, but the one I want has been sold out on HJ for a while now.

If you like the way your MYA smokes then you would be more than happy with the MYA. Good Quality hookah and you probably won't be disappointed.

If you're looking to try something different, go for any KM. Probably one of the most popular brand for hookahs on the forum with good reason too. They can also be had for well under 200.

I've switched from MYA to KM and have never looked back. Only MYA's I'm interested in now are QT's and Bambinos.

Let us know what you choose and happy birthday!

Lucy Ford- stick to Mya if you really want it to be two hoses and be able to break down.

bdot- look here for the only Nawras left available to purchase: http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=m570&_nkw=nawras+hookah&_sacat=See-All-Categories

bdot: that sure is a nice pipe man. The ed hardy was my attempt at humor

incubus: thats what i figured, but i have time to toy with the idea of getting a KM. Everyone on here raves about them and I kind of want to find out. I could get one and then keep my acrylic for when i wanna smoke out and about

i'll prob be throwing around different ideas for a few weeks

I love my KM. Best hookah I've ever owned and smoked from. But Mya definitely wins in the multi-hose and break-down-and-put-it-in-a-case department. Only difference smoke-wise between the two is the Myas are slightly more restrictive. Just weigh your options and you'll decide what's best.

I'm just gonna take my time and choose wisely. This will probably be the last hookah i buy until after college so i want it to be a good'n.

My thought process when she told me she was getting me one:

1. Need to check every hookah site i can think of

2. Need to start a topic on the forum

3. Snap out of my zone and pay attention to my gf again.

Seriously, you guys are the best

For $200 you could get an Elmas...
i must agree Elmas are nice but...don't they need that conversion piece to fit a phunnel or modern style bowl onto it?

Yes. It has a female bowl port. Also, it's worth mentioning that Elmas have no purge valve. Not a big deal if you never purge, though.

Well yes, although the Turkish bowls are sweeeet. Or you can get a Lebanese-style funnel from Santino.

As for not purging, this is a fact, but it'll teach you better heat management, that's for sure. By my third time smoking a pipe with no purge I didn't need one. Having a purge basically means you can be less careful

in the long run you would be spending a little more because you have to get certain bowls or and adapter, but there very nice pipes and certainly teach you to manage your heat well. I think thats what also makes them more unique

Ok, its been decided. The winner is the blue gyro. I'm gonna sell my acrylic to my friend and his gf because they always go to the shop and are blowing so much cash. I'll post pics when i get it....i'm giddy

I like Iain's idea. The gyro is a nice pipe though, no doubt about it.

Also, put some small cash into a petite or QT, because when there is alcohol present, vases spontaneously shatter. they're small, cheap, but good hookahs you can take to a party in a backpack, and if it gets knocked off a table you won't be as tempted to kill somebody.
