Holding Down The Mini-Mya Tray

The tray on the Mini-Mya rests on a very narrow nub and is essenially held down by the bowl grommet. This makes it rather tippy. Does anyone have any ideas on how to remedy this problem?

first thing that came to my mind is maybe making a grommet out of electrical tape to make the tray sit nice and snug. but im not sure if there would be a melting problem

different mya but seems to be same problem..from what i read the grommet is supposed to hold it straight..i could have misread

I am confused. I have a mini mya...what are you putting on the tray that it tippy?

I have had that thing full of ash, no more tippy than my km trays.

It's like the vortex then. the end of the stem is tapered, and the opening on the tray is flared. Push the tray down, then push the grommet down so it goes over the flare of the tray, kind of seating them together.

Something like that. There really isn't much flare to the tray. What you end up with is a tray that's free to pitch and roll. The bowl grommet doesn't do a good job of stopping that.

So far, mine's given me very little trouble. IDK how to fix it though since it's a one-piece unlike their other stems.

Ya, thats about how it works. Grommet holds it on the little ledge. Perhaps a new tighter gommet.
