magick777
I'm picking up a few flavours of JM's from a local trade and wondered if anyone could give me some idea what to expect. From the reviews, I understand that it's a fine cut, wet shisha - but, some users report that it takes a fair bit of heat to get going and loses flavour rapidly. I'd invite any comments on that. Also: 1) Does it like to be packed down like Tangiers, or kept loose like AF? 2) Phunnel or Egyptian? Or some flavour-retaining hybrid? 3) Does it actually require a lot of heat (i.e. treat as Nakhla) or not (treat as Tangiers)? I wonder if less heat equals better longevity of flavour? 4) Being an unwashed tobacco, to what extent does it benefit from acclimation? Any other thoughts or advices welcome... I haven't got much of it and it's probably a one-off, but I'd like to get the most out of it...
Chreees
It's unwashed? Looked washed to me... I had some pineapple, but I traded it away without trying it. As for how to pack it, I'd pack it fluffy in a standard bowl, not tight. Basically follow my video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4t-yDnDwjw&feature=channel_video_title As for acclimation issues, you should have none, so don't worry about that. As for heat management and longevity, I have no clue.
dizzbizz
Yeah, I bought some JM locally and I find that it smokes best in an egytian bowl, packed loosely. Take a little while to get going, but if you put too much to make it faster you'll scorch it and it'll be terrible. Its washed, not unwashed.
