blowing smoke

is there any way to make smoke just come out of the pipe, so it hangs in a cloud in the air, so people could sit around and just breath it in. A freind of mine told me how cool it would be if u didnt have to pull on the hose, u could just breathe, and so i naturally thought of this

It's called "hot boxing". Go find a small closet and close the door, or go smoke in your car...

Not sure why you'd want to, but yeah... Potheads do this for when they
want to get multiple people high at once. Not really valid for hookah
though...

Edit: Well to answer your question, I guess there really isn't a way to
have the smoke just magically come out of your hookah and hover into
the air for people to inhale. You would need a person puffing on it and
exhaling all the smoke, which the others would breathe in if in a
small, closed off room/area.

Yes, it would.But if a pothead is trying to get high, the O2 deprivation is just going to help.

The smoke actually won't hang around in a cloud waiting for you to inhale it, unless the whole room is filled. Smoke follows the laws of nature and will dissipate throughout the area, until the particles' concentration is equal throughout the room.You would need to find a device which somehow sucks the smoke out of the hookah and releases it into a small area (ie jar), from which you could then breathe it in. Of course, that's basically what a hookah does

I think "hotboxing" a hookah would be a bad idea mostly because of the coals. Way too much carbon monoxide.Besides how lazy do you have to be to not use your lungs? I thought those people were just called non-smokers.

Is it just me or does it seem that hookah smoke "dissipates" much quicker than than cigar or cigarette smoke or is it my imagination?

Hookah smoke does dissipate faster.  I'm a cigar smoker myself and can definitaly say it does.  The nice thing about it is that you can smoke a hookah indoors and not worry about the smell lingering around and staining everything unlike cigar and cigarette smoke.

in  my experience, hookah smoke seems to almost "fall" aswell. if you gently blow it out straight forward, it moves towards the ground, probably because it's cooler than cig smoke.
