squidget
So the other night I was watching some TV with the BF and smoking hookah. We were watching a movie in the dark (Ong Bak 3 for the curious and yes it was horrible.) I got up and went to the bathroom and when I got back and sat on the couch also managed to sit on the hose which pulled the hookah off the end table and onto me, the couch and the carpet. 3 of my couch cushions have these swiss cheese holes in them now (couches melt fast) the carpet was the least burnt and I have a full size coconara charcoal burn on my lower back. It hurts like hell because its at the spot of my back that bends. Every time I stand, sit, move, twist, it hurts (and probably breaks my very fragile skin) I did manage to get all the ash out and it will probably leave a scar (FYI, black people are white underneath, I now know this ) some take away tips: Do not smoke hookah in the dark Always be aware of where the hose is Coaches do not burn they melt and they do it fast PS - the hookah itself is ok (whew) Edited March 25, 2011 by squidget

Even the fight scenes weren't that good (the only reason I decided to watch it)

claytronmeans
I love that your name is squidget; I've been calling people that for years. Hookah burns do suck; I've got one semi circle windcover burn on my arm that's been there for a good three months, and then one on my knuckle from the bottom side of a tray with coals ashing over after being started. oi
ilikemyusername
I did the exact same thing once but I managed to catch one coal in my elbow! Martial arts reflex FAIL ! it was funny though, having 2 identical triangular burns

I know, things can be fixed(new covering so be as good as new) but still. I guess more of a reason to smoke outside on the patio

It's mostly gone now though. I kind of wish it stayed, it was kinda badass looking, haha.

peaceman27
My only coal injury has been on the bottom of my big left toe. I stepped on a Coconara while trying to pick them up off the carpet. Those things blister like none other.

Coleman
Sorry to hear of your poor back and couch. A new cover would be perfect though. But like etiquette says "hookah should be on the ground not on the table."
IainUM
i did burn a hole in my pants once. i was doing the whole mobile hookah thing at a party, sat down on a couch a little too animated, the coal fell on my pants. of course, the tongs feel just out of reach when this happened, too

This will probably encourage me to use the KM or Syrian more. I have an open storage ottoman that I put them in so that its on the floor and the dog cant get to it.
