ezxen
Ok so i just don't get it. Im not saying Nak Da is bad but its not as great as everyone claims. Yesterday made some cash working at the farmers market and decided to get some shisha, Picked up Nak Da and coco's. The smell was incredible, but the flavor is not what i expected. Af Da has far better flavor in my opinion. Ive tried Af,SB,Kings DA, and now Nak DA. So far Nak is second to AF, followed by SB and kings. The buzz is the best of all but flavor is not as good as Af. I give it about an 8/10 . Its good but it just dosent live up to the hype everyone gives it.
Cp44
Nak DA was the first DA I ever smoked, it was good but then I was introduced to AF DA and it was love at first smoke
Stuie
I think Nakhla DA just fits my tastes better. That and Romman DA.
mitchard
AF DA is stronger in flavor for sure, but not better in my opinion. Its a little much to be honest haha. I am not the biggest DA fan to begin with, but the only one i'll smoke is Nakhla.
no longer welcome
Nakhla TA is love hate for me. It depends on several things, first, it's not always the same experience. Sometimes it's heavy and strang, sometimes flavor is too much like licorice, but once in awhile you get that experience that makes you remember smoking many many years ago when there were no other choices. The entire set up was worse that it is today, like a crappy hookah, old rusty hose, cheap quicklights and dirty water, yet, you didn't know any better and just loved it. I always have some open and probably smoke a bowl at least monthly of Nakhla TA. I just wish Tangiers would make a TA or DA already.
Hassouni
If handled right, Nakhla DA has a wonderful complexity that AF DA does not have
magick777
I guess everything is subjective, I haven't tried every flavour in the book but out of what I can easily obtain in the UK, Nak is one of the best brands and TA is one of my favourite flavours. My local supplier has AF DA at the moment "because the supplier had run out of Nakhla". Bought some recently and it was bad enough that I've been tracking down Nak TA off eBay instead. IME, AF has a more appealing initial smell and produces nice billowy clouds but is a complete let-down in every other respect; flavour is variable and less sustained, doesn't like heat, doesn't like being tightly packed, pain in the arse to smoke for variable flavour and no buzz. But, that's just my experience... if you prefer it, smoke it. I think it's one of those love/hate things - Nak TA has loads of anise and I like it. I also like aniseed chews, and anise drinks like sambuca, ouzo, pastis, pernod, etc. - anyone who was looking for an "apple" flavour is going to be disappointed. In recent weeks I've had Tang Lucid Apple, which was a far truer flavour but struck me subjectively as weak and lacking body; I've also had Nakhla's Eskandarani Apple, which was really nice, more along apple candy lines... and it now makes me tempted to try their Red Apple, which is rare as rocking horse shit here and I'll likely have to import it. It's all horses for courses, I guess, but keep in mind that Nak have (at least) three apple flavours in their range. The TA is far more anise than it is apple, but, that's forgivable when they have two other apple varieties...
Kapten Kanel
Nakhla DA is decent, AF version has too much licorice in it, but doesnt AF have som flavour called DA 2? Which is supposed to be more like nakhlas version? And where AF bahrainin apple fits in i dont understand, smells exactly like nakhla DA but without any licorice/anis at all. joytron
Nak DA is easily the most overrated flavor ever created. I enjoy the anise flavor, I eat plenty of thai food so it doesnt seem all that strange. The issue I have is the apple flavor, the only way it resembles and apple was if you were to cut off all the waxy skin and only eat that. Part of how I rate a flavor is how it compares to what it is imitating, so if they named it Anise Flavored Wax then I would have to give it ten of ten. UltimateHookah
I'm a fan of all double apple brands, almost. The ones I have tried at least. The obvious ones are Nakhla, Al Fakher, and Starbuzz. Some brands actually have a triple apple flavor which can get interesting. As far as not getting the hype, it could be that it's just not your thing. Double Apple seems to be a flavor that people either love or hate. I know so many people that absolutely dislike anything double apple. But for me, I kind of get the hype. But also, like stated, most brands have a double apple flavor that appeals to me.

CarePolice
Those that love DA love it enough to place it on a pedestal, much like I have. The thing with DA and probably also Sweet Melon I wager is that they're likely extremely old flavors. People have been smoking them forever, and since Nak has the DA that appeases the widest audience, it was bound to develop a cult following. And it's cheap. You'd be amazed what your taste buds can adapt to on a budget, haha.

no longer welcome
for the record, nakhla and al fakher DA's are actually labeled "two apples" most of the other brands, especially the newer ones have "double and triple apple" af has an AF2 which was their attempt to compete with nakhla's famous TA. idk they made a dent, it's ok, but regular AF TA is better imo.
