HookahLover25
Why don't you plug both ends of the hose and fill it up with either Water+lemon or all lemon or Water + baking soda . Leave it for 24 hours. If the ghosting isn't remove. Repeat it for 7 days. Try putting baking soda powder on the hose then wash it down with vinegar. (Your hose will look like it's Cumming ) Trying using Clorox bleach. Dunno if that's smart but hey if it works! doesn't hurt 2 try.
Chaz1337
I say the safest alternative would be vodka or if you really think that wouldn't be enough get it out maybe some Everclear mixed with lemon juice. That has cleared out the WORST of my stanky hose smells anyways Or if you can run high pressure water through it then rinse it out with lemon juice then another high pressure rinse you may be good to go. Just a suggestion never tried it although if mold is the problem that could potentially clear it out.

ilikemyusername
yeah, you certainly wouldn't want to use straight bleach, but get a little bit in the hose with a funnel (not the bowl) cap both ends with your fingers and send the bleach solution up... and down... and up again a few times, then pour the bleach solution out and hang the hose to allow it to dry. Run water through it and ghosting be gone! Or try the vodka lemon combo, personally I have never done that but I have bleached plenty of hookahs and hookah accessories. Dr. B
bleach is an oxidant and thus whatever remains of the denatured flavoring-molecules will either dissipate as a gas or be flushed with a simple rinsing as a liquid, unless there are ferrous or metallic components to the smell, but those should be flushed with rinsing as well. Dilute it 100:1 and plug hose and let sit for a few minutes. Drain and rinse and let air dry, just as you would a counter-top.
