Valkrine
So, nearly exactly 7 hours after buying a KM double pear 40"+ hookah, with a regular bell base, it takes the first dive of its life! The good news is, its just fine. No dents, no damage, no need to worry. The bad news is, I cant really smoke this damn thing without worrying about the thing becoming a falling hazard. I need a new vase. One that i dont have to worry about this problem as much. Im a little edgey right now due to the fact that all my friends are afraid to smoke it and for good reason..... Suggestions? Vases i can buy for it that will make it less prone to knocking it over? Anything?
Stuie
A Bohemian jumbo style or a Mya Pyramid Base... Something that holds a lot of water at the bottom. That's one of the reason I don't like tall hookahs center of gravity is too low
TheyCallMeDave
+1 With Stuie. Also, considering some rubber mats to put under it, or I always wrap a towel around the hookah my friend owns, because it's so damned wobbly.
Epoch
Also make sure you have a long hose to reduce the probability of people tugging it over while hose passing.
Skoozle
Seems like there would be more options for bases with wide bottoms. Even the big vases go back to a 5" diameter at the bottom. Keep your eyes peeled when you are in stores that might have vases and always know what diameter you need in the neck of a vase to fit a stem in there as well as a good idea of the height. I picked up some pretty sweet decorative vases that work perfect for hookah vases. Edited April 8, 2011 by Skoozle

ilikemyusername
I agree with whoever said that vases need to have bigger bases. My colossus has not yet tipped but it has that big ass heavy vase on the bottom. If I took the stem and placed it in the bell vase for my nefertiti B it would surely collapse. jorlyfish
I know there are rubber base protectors, but I don't know if they'd fit your specific vase...
