Benefits Of A Khalil Mamoon?

they're hand made in egypt, not machine made like chinese pipes, they have wider guage ports and downstem so they have an easier pull. The majority of them are made of high quality materials and are solid. With chinese pipes they're mostly made of pot metal and other junky cheap stuffs. My pipe is chinese but it's a MYA so the quality is more than that of typical chinese pipes.

its the best hookah ive ever owned. its a classic. comes with a good hose (next best thing to a nammor/razan imo), big smoke, sturdy, and the minor imperfections give each one a little character i think.

I like Khalil Mamoon, Nour/Al Nawras, and Mya.... but my favorite hookah of all time, is my Khalil Mamoon, hands down. Everyone pretty much covered the benefits, but it being my favorite should tell you it's a wise purchase. Many others feel the same as me.

My opinion - Handmade means nothing quality-wise, if anything it means risks for shitty welds, scratches etc... NOTHING beats a high quality machinemade pipe, like MYA and similar. If MYA just could make a pipe with better draw, the hoseports are a real bottleneck atm (not an issue at all but a KM-like draw would be nice).

Every KM I own is Rolls Royce quality...... And I own seven. I've heard about the occasional issues, but I've never personally experienced anything but great quality. However, the same attributes that make my KM's so great (as mentioned before) do occur in other brands as well. So as much as I love all seven of mine, if I were looking for a new pipe I wouldn't hesitate to by another brand if it had the same attributes.

Not to mention Ferrari or any other supercar maker. The downside to the hand made business is quality control which is a bit lacking with KMs but all of mine have been pretty much flawless. The upside is you get a bitchin pipe that looks WAY better than anything a machine could make (cough mya cough)

Also KM;s have a closed heart (hose and purge ports have there own tubes). Where MYA's have an open heart design (the hose and purge ports are connected to the stem and the inside of the stem is hollow). This makes the km pull and purge much more efficiently then a MYA.

Plus as cotsi said, closed hearts (KMs) operate more efficiently than open hearts (Mya).

Also works well with cleaning, I swear once the rough heart on the Mya starts oxidizing, there is no turning back

imo i like km's alot there use of different metal hearts is great. im a big fan of copper and brass. pipes like Mya don't offer much in these metal styles. Anyhow back to the subject: A km,mya,nammor,MZ(dont see to many),noir/nawra are really great brands i can think of. Seems like most people can get really great sessions out of any of these hookahs. Like i said just do your homework figure out brand and style then search somesites for the best deal. check the vendor area for promocodes..best of luck

Just got my 4th KM yesterday, a 42' trimetal from hookahset and its a beauty. i honestly dont kno y they have a bad rep, i've ordered from them 4,5 times so far and they pack things great and since they are in NY as i am i get it almost next day. Imo you cant get a better hookah experience then a km, the draw is like breathing and i just love their look. happy smoking.

You want authentic look with authentic quality concerns, then KM. Not ot say they all have quality problems, but as said above, handmade does not mean well made sometimes.

Mya may be machine made, but with the exception of the econo line they are brass cored, no bad welds, fixed easily if broken, and have a warranty. Can't say that about a KM.

My feeling about KM is that if they're gonna be such a huge brand name, they should have as high quality control as Mya, the only other huge brand name in the game

i completely disagree. there are tons of companies in the world that are known for producing handmade goods. every handmade good has slight imperfections (albeit some major imperfections). people go out LOOKING for stuff like this because "it adds character." hell, the small bell at the bottom of my km has a small hole in it. doesnt affect the smoke at all, its just the way it is and i love it to pieces.

Yeah, but there is definitely something to be said for machine manufacturing. "Hand made" had a certain cachet about it, but if the KM look and design were machine manufactured on a mass scale, I'd buy them just as much. I don't get hung up on "cachet" , but I am definitely hung up on the traditional look and function.

Quick, look up...... There goes the point soaring over your head.... my OG tri-metal could be machine made. It would not make a difference to me. It would still have the closed heart, would still have the extra wide down stem, would still look traditional. It happens to be hand made, but if it looked and functioned the same it wouldn't matter if it were machine made. When you talk Mya versus KM, you're not just talking machine made versus hand made. You're talking apples and oranges. Both might be great, but they don't look or taste alike. And they wouldn't if the Mya were hand made and the KM machine made. It's the design that works. How it got made is beside the point.
