Chreees
I'm only 20, so I asked my dad if this was the worst he's ever seen the U.S.... He said yeah, and that he doesn't think it'll get better anytime soon, if at all. Roller coaster ride, for sure. I once said on another forum that this country will be totally dead within the next 100 years. That was a good while ago. I now believe that this country will be dead within a two-digit number, and I'm not thinking like 50 years, but maybe 10-20. I just don't see how we can turn things around... It's going to take some MAJOR restructuring of the government to allow it to even be possible, but the restructuring isn't possible because none of these old badgers wanna let go of their money or power. New and intelligent people, people who are actually willing to get along with one another and don't care about the money or power, but instead care about the DAMN COUNTRY and it's PEOPLE, have to come in and change things up. Because the old bastards on Capital Hill just will not budge. I hope SOMEONE is reading this so they see we don't like them very much. They are the sole people responsible for killing this country. Not just whoever is president, but Congress, all those people set in their ways and looking out for themselves or their agenda. I'm fed up with it almost to the point now that it makes me wanna move. Because the end is nigh my friends, and it is not going to be pretty.
I heard Glenn Beck talking about on the radio today. Normally I see Beck as no more than a prophet of doom, but at times he can be very funny. This was one of those times. Chris,i maybe older than your dad and these are the craziest times I've seen. But the 60's were just as rocky politically. Actually it was pretty scary if you had long hair then.Cops would harass you, pull you over and screw with you. If you were an NHT user and they found even the smallest amount it was off to jail,in some places for years. There was a divide as great or greater than now. People got killed at Kent State and demonstrators were arrested and beaten. Nixon's government fell apart, but there was never the instability of the economy like there is today. The rich and powerful learned a thing or two in the sixties. There are just too many alarmists around predicting the end of America or the end of the world in the biblical manner. I reckon alot of it is hogwash. trouble is no one seems to taking an optimistic view on this crisis. One would think the capitalist wouldn't want to crash the economy or turn the spend happy American consumer into a third world serf. Perhaps this greed is like alcoholism or drug addiction and Wall st and the CEO's are in denial. If it crashes y'all are welcome to come to the hills of SW Virginia and have some biscuits and squirrel gravy.
mustafabey
Its not just America going thru some of these issues. I've been watch foreign news channels and see the same erosion of income and benefits once afforded to the poor and lower middle income workers with tax breaks for the wealthy. Slave labor has increased dramatically. Of course they don't it slave labor, they pay and then take out enough from workers salaries to make it slave labor. Just busted an operation in the US.Its interesting that both the left and the right talk about the theories of a coming world government, they just don't agree whose running it.Its big money whether its Beck's nemesis George Soros or multinationals or the Bilderburg group. From that point of view, we'll all become slaves and the marginal peoples of the third world(whoops that could be us) will starve. Whether is fascist corporate world order or a super rich socialist system, either way are pawns, maybe slaves dedicated to increasing their wealth. Sounds like a bad science fiction movie or novel. TheScotsman
Pawns and slaves have value, and are an asset to those in power. I really think we are at a point where we, the pee-ons, are more of a burden on resources, and a risk to their safety/security, than anything of any value. Not the best position to be in. ilikemyusername
Been away for awhile with health issues, Glad to see you back.... good to be back and start another great debate.oh boy, I can't wait What's up here?OK we are in deep doo doo, true agreed can't seem to see spending needs to be cut, they'd rather increase the debt ceiling. Of course we have to service these loans, which takes a huge amount out the budget, which could be used on other things. Bill Clinton left a surplus, dang skippy! Bush spent like a democrat, with tax cuts for the wealthy and unpaid wars and nation building he never expected to get into. He was a douche just like his daddy. Obama's spending has been equally irresponsible. And I was so ready for a change...The GOP seems to think we need to pay for all these cuts by cutting services to our citizens.Yeah, that sounds like a winning plan...Prompted by a growing Tea party contingent, the call for cuts in social security, medicaid and medicare and a host of other similar programs for the aging and low income families. Speaking of low income families, if we just do away with any services for illegals I'm pretty sure we can do away with the debt in just a few years. I'm tired of working and paying taxes and getting screwed but if i didn't speak english they would force the papers in my face. All that is on the table for the GOP, what is not on the table is tax increases for the wealthy. not at all surprising. That seems to be the centerpiece of their Path to Prosperity outline. Whose prosperity, you may ask? The prosperity of the wealthy.Meanwhile ultra libs seem to think we can fund anything and everything they think must be done. Well, if we're all spending like there is no deficit then why not? 1 1/2 weeks on the PTSD ward of my local VA hospital made me realize just how much expense the Veterans Affairs dept spends.(These guys,by the way are awesome and deserve all the funds they get) agreed. Listening to the Prophet of Doom, Glenn Beck Oh, fuck I don't listen to anything funded by Al- haweed BinTalal. on the way back from the hospital made me think abit. He is selling sympathy for the poor downtrodden rich, making unions into Marxist/Muslim conspiracies( ridiculous because Muslims believe deeply in God and Marxists are atheists) and predicting that George Soros and his gang want to collapse the economy and plummet us into the depths of socialist evil. What of the Koch brothers, funders of the Tea Party, whats their vision of fascist uptopia? Anyway if we don't increase the debt ceiling by May 16th, we will default on our loans and that will cause the market to drop like it did in '08. Meanwhile back at the ranch, gas prices soar to $4. There's a shortage you know... right. Supply and demand... right... Fuckin fascist sons of bitches. How long can the people of America be bamboozled by the political thugs in DC. For as long as the powers that be keep us afraid of our neighbors. If we're afraid of each other we'll never organize. If I listen to the GOP, I will be surviving on cat food,if I listen to the Dems, our whole budget will be servicing debt, again the cat food options surface.Well Fancy Feast has all those "gourmet flavors", so I can put it in a Crystal dish, buy a shitty wig and pretend that I am The Donald!
