Lucy Ford
So i put an order in on HJ last week. I was finally gonna get a tang phunnel and a 3 pack of lucid to enjoy along with 3 kilos of CH. And some more shisha and a hose for my friend. In came to like $150 with shipping. Anyway, they were supposed to deliver it saturday but i went home because, well, who turns down nhl playoff tickets? I was hoping they would put the package by the leasing office like they usually do. Even though my landlord doesn't work on Saturdays, i'm more comfortable with a package at her door as opposed to the front of the frickin building. So i come back monday to no package. Neither of my roomates saw a package at the front door or at our door and the landlord actually stopped in about 2 hours after it was delivered and said she saw nothing. So. My package is gone. I talked to Fedex and they said they would get back to me in 48 hours. Its been over 48 and i'm starting to really get pissed. It blows my mind that a delivery man would actually leave a package at the front door or an apartment building on a college campus on a saturday afternoon when drunkards are wandering around. What i mean to ask is if this has happened to anyone and what fedex will do, if anything at all?
Zildjian
no idea but that sucks dude. hope it works out.
Chreees
HJ will have to call FedEx and file the claim, I you haven't already contacted him about it. This is exactly why I haven't ordered from HJ since last year. FedEx ALWAYS leaves the packages at my door for my shady-ass next door neighbor to steal. Atleast UPS won't leave it there if you're not there to sign for it. FedEx should require the same. And my mailman is really cool and I asked him to not leaves packages at my door, but instead leave them with the manager of my Apts or just hold it at the post office. So USPS and UPS are my shippers of choice.
Lucy Ford
other times i've had packages they take it to the office idk why this time was any different. And yeah i've been emailing john the past couple days. I just wanna add that in no way is this discrediting john...he's still the man hahah

TheyCallMeDave
A couple words of advice, although emails are professional, always call. Get answers then and there, when you want them. if they make you jump through 56 hoops to get reimbursed, make sure you can do it in an hour or less. Lol. Although I do think it's stupid for a professional package courier to leave the package out in the open, I think this is a good lesson learned. Always have someone available where you are to pick it up, put a note on the door saying to ring the door bell or knock the fuck out of your door, etc. Even if I'm home in th eliving room, I will make sure to take every precaution when it comes close to delivery day. I hope the best for you, I woudl love to see this work out.
lunare
Sorry to hear that man. Had something similar happen to me last month on an order from HJ, and still trying to get it sorted out. Hopefully you're able to get stuff sorted out soon! And yeah, FedEx is stupid. I was getting a cell phone (arriving yesterday) from AT&T, and when the sales rep said they were using FedEx, I asked if they could use anyone else, but they said no. So I asked them to require a signature on delivery, as packages have been stolen before. When I get home, what do I see? The package at my doorstep, with the doormat placed over it to "hide" it or something, I guess. This after requiring delivery confirmation too... Although surprisingly, a cell phone wasn't stolen but Tangiers was (from HJ). Makes me wonder if there are any hookah enthusiasts in my apartment complex

In fact, UPS left me a package on the doorstep yesterday, Just the classic knock and run... didnt even wait to see if someone was going to answer the door. It all depends on the shipper, and if they are sending it with required signature confirmation. Generally, you can request it of any online vendor and they will require signature on delivery. But even then, some of the delivery people are lazy and just leave it anyways. Both of therm are pretty shitty though. The only service I have no real complaints about is USPS haha. That seems to be the one everyone else hates.

Matto
As has been said, next time make sure they ship it with a signature required, then even if they leave it and it gets jacked you will have a much easier time getting refunded.

ilikemyusername
I always and I mean ALWAYS place my orders on friday, that way they can (hopefully) process through the weekend and get shipped either monday or tuesday, and I always I mean ALWAYS have them shipped to my wifes workplace. She works monday through friday as an office manager for a lighting company and her office is located in a trailer in a storage facility. Even if they end up delivering it on a saturday we can always go in there, behind the closed gate and get it from the office. In her workplace nobody is allowed to leave a package of any kind at the door, they always have to check it into the office if nobody is there to accept it. I'm just lucky that way. Sorry you're going to have to go through that type of hassle, that really sucks man.
Rani
Here's the deal....... You need to make sure when you order anything of value you don't want hi-jacked that you request it be shipped to you requiring "direct signature". What that means is that you personally have to sign for and you must show ID to be able to sign for it. Otherwise it doesn't get delivered. Period. You get the cute little note, and you have to make arrangements for re-delivery or go to the office to get it. Some vendors like Hookah Company ship that way automatically. You have to actually request they don't. . But that's relatively rare. However, anybody who ships FedEx can ship it with that notation. No offense meant, but why anyone would ship $150 worth of merchandise from anyone anywhere and not require it be personally signed for is beyond me. no longer welcome
i have been getting way too many of these lately. and with the way fedex is handling this i have since put in an application and had a meeting with a ups rep. tick tock fedex, you're about to lose an account. btw, to op, i hope we are communicating via email, I am lost bw a few of these atm. so many say that they have been delivered and recipient says no. some of them have actually been signed for and still recipient is calling bs. and filing a claim isn't as simple as it sounds. i have never collected on a claim. Click
I personally request to not sign for the packages. I hate getting the little note and having to wait until the next day. Hopefully, Fedex didn't actually deliver it and they still have the package. What happens if someone jacked it? Screwed?

[/quote] called them today. They driver said he left it at the door to my apartment which i think is bs because my good friend lives next to me and i asked her if she saw anything by my door all day and she said no. Pretty sure he got lazy and left it at the door to get in (i've seen packages before) and is trying to cover his ass. But they said john needs to call and file a claim and probably send another package and they pay him...something like that. I'm just waiting to hear back from him
Click
I was at my sister's apartment complex last week and the UPS delivery guy left a package for apartment 27 at my sister's apartment 17. I think he just didn't want to walk up the stairs since the box was clearly marked Apt. 27. These guys...
Sariél
I'm surprised that any retailer would ship without requiring an adult signature for tobacco sales. I would expect that should be a legal requirement.
