In Need Of Flavor Help

Recommended Posts

Im obviously new here but i thought its probably a good time to get an account seeing as I sadly don't have any friends that own hookahs to give me any flavor suggestions. :D

I got myself a moderately priced hookah package from hookah-shisha which came with three free flavors. I mistakenly and naively decided hey i bet these are fine. But after a while I started to realize how crappy they are especially when i decided to get myself some charcoal that were actually labeled -_- (100 pack of Starbuzz tablets) It was then that i realized how awful the extra stuff that came with my hookah really was, and here i thought i was getting a deal... So basically I think its probably a good idea to get myself some real shisha especially because after around 20-30 minutes the stuff i have now starts tasting like i'm burning a f**kin plastic bag and i actually feel the urge to check my bowl to see if ive accidentaly put some of the bag in the bowl with what these people have decided its ok to call shisha... The top of the it does get a little crispy but i know i'm not burning it and my foils look clean when i take em off. Guessing this aint normal. So back to the original question. What do you guys suggest for a few new flavors? Heard good things about Tangeirs and the Starbuzz stuff but i honestly have no idea where to start :/

-thanks in advance guys!

I'd start with Nakhla, Al Fakher, Starbuzz... brands like that. As for which flavors, just get what appeals to you.

Agreed. I started with Starbuzz. Still smoke it too. It's really easy to pack, pretty simple.

Cool thank you guys :) I'm liking the sound of the "apple cinnamon" Starbuzz sounds like it would be pretty flavorful.

Starbuzz is a great brand to start out with. Tangiers is really good, but is strong, especially the F-Line. I'd say move onto that after you've experimented with Starbuzz, Al-Fakher, and some of the other brands.

If you want to save some cash and want a good smoke, try Al Fakher. Many of the members of this forum, including myself, firmyl stand behind this brand. Good, inexpensive shisha, with very sweet and candy like flavors. Very hard to screw up or not like. In Al Fakher, I would suggest their peach, strawberry, mint, orange and watermelon. Simple, delicious flavors for a beginner. This runs anywhere from 11-15 dollars a tub.

Also, consider buying some nakhla, as inc mentioned above. This is probably the cheapest shisha youc an buy for the money, and in mine and many others opinions, completely worth the money. around 7-10 dollars a tub, this is a very simple shisha brand. In my opinion, probably the easiest to start smoking, considering how hard it is to screw up. Warning, this is an unwashed tobacco, which means it can give a hefty nicotine buzz for some. Manderin, sweet melon, chocomint, two apples and mango are flavors I would recommend.

These brands are dependable, simple and cheap. Good for a first try.

nak, and AF are two great brands. i like majority of AF flavors but nak can be a hit or miss. There really 2 different tobacco's so i think it would be good to try to them both. and available at most local stores. enjoy!

AF is a good brand to start. Suggestions : Mint, bubblegum, peach, orange, double apple. It's easy to pack and heat management is not that hard.

Try getting rid of the quicklites and get some natural coals though, they last longer and don't impart any taste or smell to your shisha. I've heard that coconara's are the most consistent coals out there so see if you can find em, and to light those you will need an electric burner. :)

Which hookah did you get btw? Edited by vendetta_revived

although i didnt try many of the brands mentioned above , Nakhla Double Apple is a great choice .

from my experience , you can smoke different flavours and form different opinions , but with nakhla double apple u cant go wrong .

another suggestion : do not get nakhla mint unless ur planning to mix it , nak mint alone is pretty strong .

If you're willing to spend good money, try Romman and Lucid Tangiers.

Otherwise, I smoke Nakhla and Al-Waha when I want more affordable tobacco.

i agree with what everyone else said. alot of people dont care for it, but i like mixing hookah hookah flavors in with something else. pinnapple goes really good as an accent with any fruit flavors and other brands, and hh is pretty easy tobacco to mix

FYI if you can buy the stuff locally (You're in Chicago so there must be Arab shops), Al-Fakher will probably run you no more than 10 and Nakhla no more than 7

This. Although I gave you quotes for online prices, buying in a local shop/grocery is your #1 bet. I can buy AF for 10 and Nak for 5-6 in a local international grocery of mine.

You cannot go wrong with a decent Al Fakher flavor. Their Cafe Latte, Sweet Melon, and Mandarin are all well loved. Best of all, in most places they won't hurt your wallet if you buy more then a 50g packet.
