screens and foil: DISCUSS!

Foil thickness does affect much. Also, Ghost of David...try making larger holes in the foil...I use a fork, see if that dosn't make a difference. People who find screens smoke better tend to make tiny pin holes in the foil, hence it smokes poorly.

so far all ive gotten to use without the all of 2 of friends hookahs ive set up, has been foil. Most of the time i poke the larger holes in mid, then some small ones medium distance from the middle of the bowl, then 4 around the edges evenly spaced. Getting a screen with my order from Social Smoke, so well see how that works soon

I use a screen, it's reusable. I have considered foil, but the screen does me well.

Tangiers, you said that foil thickness does affect much.. Was that a typo? Did you mean doesn't? Or does 1 vs 2 layers with thin foil make a big difference? I'm still struggling lately to get my hookahs to smoke good, and I'm using 2 layers of thin foil and a bunch of tiny holes.. I know you use a fork, but what's your pattern? more holes closer to the middle?

i use 1 layer of regular store bought foil. i usually make a bunch of tiny holes iwth a safety pin, last night i used a fork and the smoke was really really nice.

Yes, it was a tyop. tichnekss atfecfs iteltl.Thickness doesn't affect much...just how easily it accidently tears when you're stretching it over the bowl.
