Survival Nate
Hello im Nate I live in the KC Area in Missouri, when my wife got hooked on Hookahs when she was deployed over seas, and me being ME decent I always liked them. We had to sell our hookah a few months ago, and today I was talking to a scrapper friend and he started wiping down a large piece of brass after a sec I was in awe and asked about it, he told me found it in a trash pile and was going to scrape it, I offered $10 and told him I was it for myself. he agreed to the deal and I got this ...... theres no markings but I am leaning to a Syrain, and its heavy brass. I need to reweld a pipe on the bottom ( no problem for me) and also need, hose, tray, & bowl. Gaskets are there I just took them off while im cleaning. When I got it I could still smell the strawberry shesha LOL What are some of your thoughts on it? Thanks guys
Chreees
Nice find! It's an old Nour/Al Nawras. Here's Mitchard's he just picked up from another forum member: http://www.hookahforum.com/topic/39995-the-stable/page__st__40 Post #55. His is silver, though, but same style. Got a plan on a new downstem? How's the condition of the inside of the pipe and whatnot?
Survival Nate
yea im going to get a new stem today to weld on, the rest is in decent shape but im going to bore it out just a hair to clean it, I do a lot of work on firearms to its like a barrel for me LOL

IainUM
that's sick. projects like this are always the best, because you get to work with your hands and make something that most would throw away into a great working hookah
UltimateHookah
Nice find, that was the best $10 you will ever spend.

mitchard
I'd glady pay 7 times what he paid for the stem originally if it can be fixed and cleaned up. Haha
Survival Nate
I got the new stem in, I didnt just weld a piece to the bottom I ran a slightly smaller tube along the hole thing, I flanged the top and welded around it and the bottom. Im still cleaning, but my $10 hookah is $16 now I got a brass tube from Ace, I love brass and I got some old brass pieces, Im going to make a custom tray, and maybe bowl if I can find the right piece. I got the stem for $6 at ace its a 36x3/8 Brass Round Tube I had to cut down around 2-3 inches Edited May 9, 2011 by Survival Nate
mitchard
Nice work man. Looks pro, and you can't even tell it was ever broken from the pics minus the longer than normal downstem. But thats a big added bonus in my opinion, since you can use 12" vases now. But for reals, if you ever want to sell it.... let me know.

EvansLight
Me and a friend actually saw a hookah bar here in DFW dumping out an old box of hookahs. We didn't get there in time to save the bases (we could here the glass smashing as we got to the dumpster) but we did buy the stems for a few bucks. We cleaned them and sold them to a few friends of ours. Always amazes me what some people throw out Nice find, better post pictures once you get it cleaned up. Survival Nate
after hours of cleaning, she came out pretty good. I ordered up a bowl, cheap hose, & bearings tonight, I hope to get the good hose tomorrow. Im searching for a replacement tray, Im looing for a 8in brass tray I can modifiy, a few years back I bought about 100lbs of brass stuff for about $20 and yard sales but now there like nothing out there.
