rebuke Posted May 20, 2011 Share Posted May 20, 2011 i used to order from these guys but i heard they closed down or something cause of a new york law ? anyways they used to sent me tobacco discretely (live in canada) and i wouldnt have to pay taxes. are these guys still reliable ? I ordered and they shipped out within 1day and usps lost my package. They replaced my package on the 2nd day after i called. Just got it today everything was there packed fine. Even with extra coals. I have never personally ordered from them. As for them sending you the tobacco discretely, let me make it known that we here at HF do not condone such behavior. If it looks like we do, then it looks like we are okay with the breaking of laws and such. Living in an international country and ordering from the United States is a risk on your part, and we're not going to say it's okay. Just wanted to throw that out there before some activists trying to get hookah banned or those thinking we break the laws to enjoy our hobby have something else to hold against us. So please don't mention it again. I could remove it from your post, but I think it should serve as a reminder to others and show how serious we are about this for those certain people lurking. Mushrat may decide to remove it, however. I guess maybe had it been written out differently I would've caught the joke and what you're trying to say. About the forum wanting to keep a clean image, it's really not only that but it's that we don't want to give ammunition to those who want to see hookah getting banned on the federal level. TweakX4 Posted May 22, 2011 Share Posted May 22, 2011 with hookahset it kinda comes down to if you're willing to deal with some problems/mistakes to save a few bucks or now. i was looking around on their site and saw that they had bug powder, i really didn't think you could buy that from places online but i really wanted to try it so i ordered it, along with some other stuff. i got an email the next day saying they didn't have it and what they should substitute for it instead. not a big deal, but it's a little annoying. [/quote] bait/lure technique. it's pretty common online, actually. they bait you to their website with an in-demand product (or something kind of obscure) and then when you place the order, they tell you that they're out of stock or w/e - the point is for you just to pay attention to their site and look around and what not. it's a bit like a stand advertising lemonade, but when you get there they actually don't have lemonade, but other comparable beverages. the point being that since you're already there and took the effort to go out of your way to go to the stand/look around, you'll settle for something that's somewhat comparable. some people don't mind. some people get REALLY pissed off. [/quote] Yep, very true. Actually, about half or more of the vendors on our banned vendors list take part in this practice. They list hella nice products that other sites do not have, but I bet if you try ordering it, you'll be offered something else instead. It's that way with a lot of things nowadays. I got bug powder from them in April if they were bait and luring, they would have Tangiers Blueberry listed on topic: I like them for their prices and customer service. Most of my orders have had problems, but they always fixed it and the customer service has been great with me...I've heard of other people not being able to reach them but everytime I call mid-afternoon I get through to them, never had them not pick up...but they are slow on responding via internet. Its a vendor where you order at your own risk bc as Iain said, they make absent minded mistakes all the time. Sent them an email and they said keep the regular, we'll send you the golden strawberry, and we'll refund the $10. Got the $10 refund, but no golden strawberry.
