Bunch Of Questions!

Recommended Posts

Been sitting here at my computer all day and I've composed a bunch of Hookah related questions.

What's the strongest shisha out there? (what gives the best buzz, I'm a pretty big guy and most of the shisha I've tried does nothing for me at all.)

What's the best shisha for the price? (what is a must have but not a constant.)

Have any of you heard of Epic Smoke brand shisha before? (I have "The Hurricane")

Thanks in advance!

1) Tangiers Noir line. From what I've heard its got the biggest buzz out there, provided you can get it smoke correctly. I can't speak from experience as I've only tried the lucid line but even that seems to have a little more than a little buzz.

2) I'm going to have to say Tangiers again. The cost compared to the quality is great, even more so if you pick up a crown funnel. Right now I'm using my crown econo funnel for the first time and I'm just flabbergasted at how little shisha it uses. I think I used literally one full pinch, if that.

There are other brands however, If I'm low on cash I pick up Al Waha. Just try the stuff that you can find locally to see if its any good.

3 Can't say I have.

Hey Sumoninja, lots of interesting questions.

What's the strongest shisha out there?
The four strongest shishas in comparison to buzz would be (In order of buzz strength IMO)

- Zaghoul: Consider this the fine cigar in the pioneering hookah smoking countries. With a dark, coffee-like flavor, this is a shisha not even smoked with foil. Consider this like a pipe tobacco, but easily inhaled in comparison. This stuff, is buzztastic. That's all there is to it. It doesn't taste like lemondrops and sunshine and is certainly an aquired taste, but is absoutely hands down (apart from Dohka) the most buzz you can recieve from hookah.

- Tangiers Noir: With the highest-orsupposedly highest-nicotine content of mollasel, this shisha will make ya feel reaaaalll nice. This is an unwashed brand of Tangiers, which means it MUST be taken care of. Very tempermental. Must be acclimated, treated differently with packing, heat management, etc. If you feel like starting out this might be more work than it's worth, I would then suggest

Tangiers F-Line: This shisha is another line in Tangiers shisha. Although it is washed, it is a caffienated shisha. Don't ask me why or how, but this stuff has been known to make people lose feeling in the fingers. Personally, I feel it's just as potent if not less potent than the Noir line, but again, I am not affected by caffiene as much as others. Something to give a look at. Also, This may need to be acclimated, and smoked out of a phunnel.

Nakhla(Non-Mizo): Although listed as least potent on the list, don't let this shisha fool you. Traditional, flavorful, enjoyable and powerful. An unwashed tobacco, Nakhla will be sure to make you feel dizzy in to time if you understimate it your first smoke. One of my favorite brands. Nakhla is also known for selling a zaghoul flavor in their line.

What's the best shisha for the price?
This quesiton is a littel vauge, so I'll give three separate answers.

Nakhla: Averaging 8 dollars for 250 grams, this shisha always give a good buzz, gives many traditional and exotic flavors and is a favorite among many, including myself. If you are looking for shisha to save money but still want an enjoyable smoke, this is the stuff for you. The downsides are that the coulds aren't spectacular, and the sessions usually run shorter than most shishas.

Al Fakher: In my opinion, the king of mid-range shisha. Averaging 12 dollars a box, this stuff is usually dyed red, thick, juicy, and very sweet in nature. Lots of candy like flavors, thick thick smoke and a good amount of time for a session. An excellent buy for people on a budget. Some downsides are the quality control, it seems to change every batch made. Also, the red dye seems to bother with some people, but only a small few.

Tangiers: Tangiers is on the list to give you insight into what hookah smokers consider the best tobacco on the market. Delicious, and scary accurate flavors, sessions lasting up to 3 hours, and quality tobacco. The lucid line can be smoked out of virtually any bowl, however the F-line and Noir line requires a tangiers, alien or crown phunnel bowl. If you aren't looking to invest in any more equipment, Tangiers lucid is the next big step in hookah smoking bliss.

Have any of you heard of Epic Smoke brand shisha before?
I have heard of the brand before, however I haven't had any experience with the shisha. It's always good to sample as many brands as you can, best of luck to you.

1. The strongest shisha in my personal experience is the Tangiers Noir line, but traditional shisha is pretty strong too, like Tombac or Zag, however these lack in flavor.
2. AF I like because its pretty cheap and is pretty basic with great flavor and smoke.
3. I unfortunately have had Epic Smoke, its made here in town by the guy who owns it and, in my personal taste, is absolutely terrible. Its soaked in honey. I can't make a bowl of it without making a mess and Ive never had a flavor that tastes like its name.

I see that nobody posted Starbuzz isn't on here. Is that not really the best as they say?

I'm looking at the F-Line of Tangiers. What's the best flavor there? I'm looking at the "kashmir" flavor right now.

when i tried F line it was pretty much a gimmick. It tastes like noir, it buzzes (or not) like noir, it smokes like noir. I bet you can guess what I suggest you do?

hint: if you cant, i think you should buy noir.

starbuzz is good. some flavors are great, but price comparitive I would rather buy something else like tangiers lucid (if you dont like the buzz).

^ This.

As far as cost goes, you should think about it in terms of dollars per hour smoking vs. upfront cost, too. Like Dave said, Nakhla is cheap, especially for the quality, but it doesn't tend to last as long as most other shishas.
These are all made up numbers - prices and numbers of bowls vary, but just for the sake of example:
A 250g box of Nakhla is $8 and will give you 10 bowls, and each of those bowls smokes for an hour and a half... so 15 hours of smoking. $8/15 hours = about 53 cents/hour.
A 250g bag of Tangiers Noir is $14 and will also give you 10 bowls, and each of those bowls smokes for three hours (if not more) - $14/30 hours smoking = about 46 cents/hour.

If you look at my hookah, it's a little bowl. REALLY little bowl. So the amount doesn't bother me. I've had a 50g tub of Hookah Hookah that's lasted me for like 4 bowls already and I still have a lot in it. I'm gonna go with the Tangiers Cherry Lemonade.

As was said earlier, you want to pick up a Phunnel bowl if you plan on smoking Tangiers. I've heard its very hard to get a good smoke in an egyptian clay bowl.

PS - The small tang phunnels are still pretty big.

Is the connection different on all hookahs or is it the same size? Like the little metal piece that attaches to the stem.

A little vauge on the question. I'm thinking of four different parts you're talking about. Are you talking about the tip top, where the bowl sits, the down stem long tube into the water, the part that connects to the hose, or the part with the ballbearing in it?

If you mean the top, and are asking if the phunnel or any other bowl will fit on there, it most likely will. Sometimes you get a top that is very wide, or very narrow. If the bowl is too far down or loose, try using a bigger grommet, or just as easily wrap a damp paper towl around the metal part a few times and then put the bowl on, it will be perfect.

As far as the actual parts being interrchangable, it all depends. For your hose port and purge valve, you can probably replace those by buying a chinese hose port/purge valve online. However, the top part and down stem, especially the down stem, are no garuntee. The downstem is relative ot the size of your hookah, the width of the hole for it to screw in, the size of your vase, etc. Make sure you take good care of that downstem, becasue I don't know anyone that sells pumpkin downstems alone.

Yeah, sorry bout not be specific. I did mean the part where the bowl sits. The cone shape piece that screws on. The gromet I have is fairly small, but I'm sure the paper towel thing will work wonders. I need to alocate some money to a new hookah soon. Gettin serious about it and want to roll with the big boys now. :D

Where did you find Tangiers Cherry Lemonade?!?

Also, if you plan on smoking Tangiers 10g at a time, You should look into getting a Crown Economy Phunnel. I've never tried it but I think that would be your best bet.
