shishologist
I friggin love my coal screen! I just noticed an increase in flavor, for some reason, and I don't have to pick up coals and move them around. I just grab the long end of the screen and move the screen. It's not as bad as others say!

Maybe you could possibly post some pictures of your form for packing the bowl?
shishologist
I'll post tomorrow, if I remember. I'm rather busy, and tonight I'm sleepy as hell and with such a shisha buzz that I can't tell my fingers apart. Let me describe it: I pack the bowl REALLY loose. I take every single little bit of Nakhla tobacco and just let each individual little piece fall into the bowl. No pressing involved. I don't even touch the tobacco in the bowl during the packing process. It seems Nakhla works best. Other "wetter" tobaccos don't smoke very well with a screen, but I've seen others say quite the contrary. I must tell you that I did write this post WHILE smoking with a screen, not after, and I did notice that the session is a little shorter with the screen, since it pulls in a lot of cold air onto the tobacco. Burning isn't a problem, especially with Nak. Let me know if this information is adequate.

I think that its actually the fact that you have to pack it a lot looser than compared to with foil. To me, screens just don't work as well. Plus, if you accidently burn some tobacco to the bottom of the screen, it's a bitch to get it off. Still interested in packing pictures and smoking pictures. shishologist
I actually pack it just as loose as I do with foil. The thing is that, since I put smaller holes in my foil, and a bit more spread out, the "steam" from the tobacco stays stuck where it should be, instead of releasing into the air, drying out the bowl a lot more slowly. shishologist
Well, the truth is, foil works better. I use screen when I'm REALLY lazy.
