shishologist
I tried Shiazo for the first time, on a shallow regular bowl, with one layer of foil over it, and plenty of holes. I put two coco coals on it and the smoke was REALLY pleasant the first 10 minutes. After that, it just got kind of rough. I took off one of the coals, and the smoke got a little better. Any words of wisdom here?
Blaskomc
maybe you could try breaking/ cutting one of the coco's in half

MichaelLCP
From what I've heard the phunnel bowl is the best way to go. I'm going to try them out later. I'll let you know how it goes.
shishologist
Yeah. I figured that it needed a Phunnel. You know, they should put it on their website: Warning: Our steam stones really suck when smoked on a normal bowl. Spend $15 on a Phunnel bowl or GTFO, and show me your breasts. Chreees
The juices from the stones needs to be contained. Allowing them to drip down is just no bueno... Plus, if you have a bowl with big enough holes, smaller rocks could potentially fall through. I guess it's kind of like Tangiers and Tangiers phunnel bowls. When you see Tangiers for sale on a retailer site, you never see them say, "You also need to smoke this out of a Tangiers phunnel bowl." But Tangiers works best in a Tangiers phunnel bowl, not a regular bowl. Yes the regular bowl can and will work (as it did for the Shiazo Stones for you for the first part of your session), but ultimately the phunnel is the preferred bowl of choice. They don't tell you; you just have to figure it out on your own or do research and find out that way.
shishologist
After doing a whole ton of upgrades to my hookah, I think I can officially be named a hookah enthusiast/nerd. I actually love it!
