The Idiot Idea

The only reason I can think of as to why this DOESN'T drip onto the coals is that with a standard bowl, the air pressure is being lowered into the stem. With the flip, since we're always having the air go upwards, it might actually keep pulling the juices UP into the tobacco and this prevents it from seeping down through the foil.

I think the best test is to just fill the bowl up with wet tobacco, let it sit for about 15-20 minutes without being smoked and see if it drips then. Can someone try this out?

I have this device and I posted about it in the other thread. It can and will drip when you have really wet tobacco (i think I was using hookahfiina or something, can't remember) at a heat level that is good for smoking. essentially, its starts to "boil" and drip out. This is not an issue with dryer shisha's or not mostly juice shisha's. For example, with Al Amir (which is pretty wet but not wet enough I guess) Its start to boil but then cauterizes to the foil.

BTW, since I already have one, I will more than happy to pass it around. If someone is willing to pick up the shipping - I can mail it out.

FWIW, its not terrible. It's main appeal is less ash blowing about (cause its in a windcover type bowl) and slightly "safer" heat management. I stopped using mainly due to the clean up factor. It's a PITA

Another thing that is just way too damn big for smaller hookahs:

I often wonder how that bowl heats any of the bottom tobacco.

Not gonna lie, I bought one, wasnt working too well, but we just got done smoking and the bowl lasted with GOOD flavor for over 3 hours, if you set it up right it works very well, and the smoke is dense consistently throughout the whole head.

ladies and gentlemen... (drumroll)
It does drip, or at least it can (que fake shock!). I've had my flip for a few weeks now and have been putting through the paces. It's been working until today when noticed this wierd sizzling sound and I looked over and it was dripping.

That black pool in the corner is caramelized juices that dripped from the bowl

The top er bottom of the bowl itself.

I was testing out some hookafina when this occurred. I've tried AF, Starbuzz and Nak in this thing without issues. This is the first shisha that caused drippage.
