Southern Florida Hookah Scene

Recommended Posts

First Thread Woo Hoo! I'm new to the hookah arena and new some suggestions on some hookah establishments in Southern Fla. I'll be spending a lot of time in the near future in the Fort Lauderdale and Miami areas. How's the hookah scene there? Suggestion on some good spots? Where are the hot spots during the week (like Tues-Thurs) and then on the weekend? Definitely need the social smokers crowd during the week to make some new friends. Thanks for the suggestions!

how long are you going to be down here. im in miami and my lounge is opening soon.

the lounges down here are meh. typical starbuzz and using 3kings charcoal. old school stuff. there is a reason im opening a lounge. but like i said how long are you down here for. there are only a few lounges down here and they are all mediocre.

I've actually never been to a hookah lounge down here(Miami), but there are quite a few. I'm not sure what area you are going to but I know there is one on South Beach, there is one in Coconut Grove, and there is one by Sunset Place Mall. Let me ask some friends to see where they usually go to and if they are any good.

i go to UM, so i know the places pretty well. the one in sunset place mall is really good. they really take care of you

the one in south beach is pretty good, but expensive, since it is south beach.

the one in the grove called oasis hookah lounge is god awful. their hoses are dirty and broken and nasty. they use mya acrylics and metal bowls with wind covers on them. they also double as a club, so there is always loud music and lots of alcohol there. the hookahs there are terrible. i almost got a job there, and might get one when i go back to school. if i do, i am going to try really hard to turn it around and make it a good hookah bar.

in hollywood, there is a hookah bar near the hard rock that i heard serves AF, tangiers, and SB and that it is really good, but i have never been there myself, personally

I live in miami and ive been to oasis, the one in coconut grove and its more of a party scene. No one there really knows what there doing, its crowded with people. Not my type of place. I would recommend the hookah lounge which is right by sunset place on red road. The people who run it are very nice and friendly. Theres also one called hookah inn thats alright. Over priced and they tried to rup me up one time.

Kevin, where are you opening your lounge and what are you going to serve?

us1 near the sunset area. going to serve tang, nak, af, and some sb and fantasia(maybe lol)

all brass hookahs with some km or temsah hoses.

and of course. natural coals.

only thing concerning me is having to play loud music at certain times to please the miami crowd. but during the week im sure i wont have to do that and it can be the modern lounge i envisioned it to be.
