onionz
I happen to smoke a briar as well and had some pipe tobacco I wasn't using. I put it in a jar and mixed in some high grade honey (sourwood honey) . I'm gonna let it sit overnight and see how much moisture it absorbs. It isn't the best quality tobacco so chances are it already has some glycerine. I will report back with the results. I'm sure many of you have tried this already. What were your results? - Ryan
Hassouni
I think ezxen had the best luck of anyone in such an experiment, I'm sure he'll chime in
noodle
What tobacco did you use as a base for this experiment?
ezxen
see video link in my sig for what i did. I used american natural spirit for mine and in my video i put measurements i used and use the notes in youtube for adjusted measurements. Aside from needing a better flavor agent alcohol extracts are not half bad
Matto
I made some out of a low grade pipe tobacco once as well, I added some extra veg. glycerin too though. It smoked pretty well actually, you just have to get the mixture down right and let it soak long enough.
onionz
I used a cavendish blend I believe, it is mostly black with a few specks of VA. It is an aromatic with a cheryy-vanilla scent from what I could tell (I didn't label the bag). I found some glycerine skin protectant, 99.5% glycerine, in the grocery store and decided to use that as well to make it official and smoky! So I'm gonna give it another day to soak and try it as my weekend starter tomorrow night.
Skoozle
Have you ever tried just smoking pipe tobacco through your hookah? Like, just pack it in there and light the tobacco the same as you do in your briar pipe? I've never tried it, by the way and I don't imagine it would go well, but just curious if you thought to try it.
Starwind
[quote name='Skoozle' timestamp='1307718148' post='512273'] Have you ever tried just smoking pipe tobacco through your hookah? Could barely get a bubble or two before I'd have to stop hitting it. It's weird because it's not harsh you just can't inhale. With that said I made some hookah tobacco with some good pipe tobacco unwashed and it was awesome. Huge clouds nice pipe tobacco flavor and the biggest buzz I've ever had. I could barely walk when I stood up my friend actually got a nose bleed from all the nicotine.
onionz
Well first attempt was a failure. Took two coals to get it started. No flavor and massive smoke. My guess is too much glycerine. Plus I had some serious ghosting from the previous bowl, shouldve cleaned it out.
