First it depends on your heat, then what you are smoking, then water level, then hose. Ok so the last three aren't in order but you get the idea. It is heat management for the most part. Then you just have to find your sweet spot for the water level, and get a wide hose and you will be set. Normally this is what I am using, a mini HJ phunnel with tangiers packed, 3 natural CCN, and a nammor hose. My water level comes up a half inch past the bottom of my stem. I blow clouds that will block my view of my TV and I have a 50in. :) Hope it helped.

MORE HEAT!!!!

Make sure you have enough tobacco in the bowl and enough heat. Glycerin is not generally needed unless you are in Germany, where flavours not juicy/glycerin. What shisha are you smoking?

If you are smoking al fakher, guru, starbuzz, nakhla and you not getting thick clouds, maybe you are not pulling hard enough? These brands certainly dont have problems with smoke!

from my experience you dont get alot of smoke if you pack up your bowl, keep it loose, make sure its below the foil and not touching otherwise it would burn, keep water levels just above the bottom of the stem. and have 2 coals on top. more coals = more smoke, however you dont want to burn out the tobbaco so it only lasts 5 mins.

There aren't any australian based websites selling this stuff? Hmmm...why don't you go to a hookah lounge and ask them about where they get their supplies? I am sure there'd be local shops if not websites selling this stuff....you could also ask the place you bought your hookah from.

Even shoddy tobacco should get decent smoke volume...

Pack the bowl fully, and don't worry about the tobacco touching your screen (it won't hurt like some think). Put more coals on gradually until you get nice clouds, and then enjoy.

Thich (Quang Duc) was the Vietnamese monk who started the self-immolation movement...

in short more heat and add extra glycerin
this should do it no matter tobacco, note flavor will get obliterated with more heat and glycerin and may burn ur throat like hell...but nothing like Pompeii coming out of your mouth

Heat management is key. Your in aus so its gonna be hard and expensive to get non herbal shisha. I would say you need to increase your water level another 1/2 in for starters. We need more info on how you load your bowl, what coals you use and how much. Pics would help a ton. But you need to experiment and see what works best for you. More heat is not necessarily the answer. Try loading the bowl loosely and see if that works better. If not then try a denser pack. You get the point. Oh and despite what Extra Mint said the shisha WONT burn if it is touching the foil. Take tangiers for instance. Mine and everyone else's shisha touches the foil the entire time and no burny.

That holds true for AF as well. It actually smokes hella better if the tobacco is touching the foil imo.

^All pretty solid advice. Basically it all comes down to your packing and heat management. Each brand of tobacco (or herbal) has its own type of heat management. Once you figure out how to manage it for one brand (or in some cases flavor), you'll be in heaven.
