myasaray.com
The KM's are handmade hookahs, they are for people who enjoy a rather traditional setup than mya, since mya are known for their modern look, so aesthetics play a major role for people buying KMs, plus they also appreciate the little flaws that handmade products bring and want that special character, the uniqueness that it brings to their setups. I don't own a KM so I can't really comment on their performance, but they are mostly solid brass/copper made rigs and will not corrode, giving it a longer life, most KM's have a traditional chamber, enabling everything to be more airtight and what not, and also they purge awesome because of the same. Add to that the fact that they are wide gauge (wide bore stems and downstems), you get brilliant smoke quantity and density, giving you a much more satisfying sessions. Myas are quality chinese hookahs and they are machine made, made for people who want their hookahs to be flawlessly made and want a more modern looking hookahs. I myself own a Mya QT and for me it smokes brilliantly. Most myas though rock an open/common chamber and therefore, don't purge as good as KMs. They too will last you a long time if taken care of. So it basically comes down to what you are looking for in a hookah. Hope it helped.
Dear vendetta_revived I would like to correct your information that MYA is not a machine made product, yes we do use a machine so we can drill holes just the way any hookah being made but we don't dump brass in a machine then we get a finished stem, we don't dump leather in a machine and get finished hoses. The major deference between MYA and any hookah is the material used. MYA is the only company in the world that builds stems from "SOLID BRASS". If you want to know more about the way we manufacture our MYA please do not hesitate to contact us at 866 277-9MYA. Thank you Mahmoud Badawi CEO
Dear Mahmoud, First, I'd like to mention that it was not even the least of my intentions to derogate mya hookahs, as I myself own one and if you notice, I spoke of them quite highly. I am not saying that you took my post as an attack, I am just clarifying on my part. When I said machine made, I wasn't referring to dumping metal in a machine and getting a stem per se. I was saying that with KM's, you get welds that were done manually, the etchings and designing on the stem are done by hands, and If I am not wrong (which I very well could be since I don't own a KM), their bases are also hand blown. With myas, you get hose ports that are threaded, and a mya hookah will not have etchings and such that are manually done, so one is very less likely to find any minor flaws and differences between 2 products of the same make that people normally associate with handmade products. I will not be making that call since I am in India and it will be a big dent in my pocket, but are you saying that a mya hookah is as much a handmade product as say, a Khalil mamoon hookah? As for making hookahs with solid brass, this excerpt is from the website in your signature. "Stem: This is the piece of metal that connects to the vase on one end and the head on the other end. It connects using the rubber attachments to allow for tightness and comes in different sizes, colors, and lengths. It is the most integral part of the Narghileh as it holds it all together. The stem is customarily designed of stainless steel to prevent rusting after being submerged in water during smoking. Additionally cleaning is easy, simply rinse with soap and water." Now I don't know if that is old, but I see no mention of brass there, and rest assured, I am fairly sure that there are other companies too making hookahs with solid brass. rahl071
There's one thing that a Mya will always have that no other pipe can claim: You can clean the damn thing without getting in a bathtub with your hookah. They break down into neat, manageable parts. The threads on mine have all withstood over a year now of use, and there is no indication of wear on any of them. I clean them a lot too; pretty much every session. Also, if you want that "handmade" look, Mya does offer a bunch of Cloisonne pipes, which are hand-cut and painted, so far as I know. So, tell us: are you going to move this a lot? are you an obsessive cleaner? how many people will be smoking this pipe? if your answers are possibly, yes, and >1, I say go with mya. If it's gonna sit on a table or in a corner and just be a brooding badass in the room, get a KM. Edit: Yes, it's a 6mm ball bearing on the blow-off. You can get them from anywhere that sells BB's. I like to keep a few extra.

vendetta_revived
O wow! They changed the description on their website! It connects using the rubber attachments to allow for tightness and comes in different sizes, colors, and lengths. It is the most integral part of the Narghileh as it holds it all together. The stem is customarily designed of solid brass or Aluminum to prevent rusting after being submerged in water during smoking. Additionally cleaning is easy, simply rinse with soap and water.
