I'm Considering Trying To Start Up A Hookah Joint + Used Book Store.

Recommended Posts

People could sit, smoke, read, maybe hook up a laptop to wifi or what have you.
The only local hookah joint is like seven miles away, across the freeway, and it charges $12-16 per bowl, and has a club atmosphere (on Friday and Saturday nights you can't even hear the people at your table talk unless they scream). And there's plenty of places leasing because of the economy. And getting a decent loan wouldn't be too hard, I've got Navy Fed.
Don't know about tobacco laws in Virginia.

Thanks.

Is there any easy wholesale route for hookahs and shisha, or should I just order them individually online? Obviously I'll buy coals en masse. Edited by Moose

I think it sounds like a great idea! I love to sit and smoke and read a book!

getting a loan might be harder than you think. i tried looking into bank loans but ended up going with private financial investors for my hookah house. banks are apprehensive about investing into the tobacco industry.

Another thing to keep in mind in a book store, is that smoke can easily damage or discolour the paper of the books, detracting from their value. Also, lots of paper + coals makes it easy for a fire to start if someone were to knock one over.
