Johnny_D
Someone mentioned my working Gun dog on another thread of mine. As photography is a bit of a hobby of mine I'd though I'd share some of my fav images of the boy. He is around 3 years old now, we adopted him around 1 year old. He was badly beaten and abused in Scotland by a man and his son, and he hates men (Apart from me!) He loves the girls, but will not take to new men or other dogs (apart from his girlfriend, an ageing German Shephard) DSCF9856 by John W. Hassouni
Beautiful dog! That's too bad about his past. He looks mostly Labrador, if not all - is that so?
TheScotsman
Labradors would live in the water if you would let them. Rescue dogs can be hard to get back on track. He look happy.

Chreees
Beautiful dog, JD! The German Shepard/Border Collie is a beautiful dog as well. I hate to hear he/she was abused. How people can treat ANY living creature in that way, I will never understand. A long time ago, my family adopted an abused Chinook (a sled dog, they're still an endangered breed of dog if I'm not mistaken). His owner died of lyme disease from a tick while out deer hunting, and the man's daughter kept the dog trapped in a garage for months, just throwing food and water in there, not giving him any love whatsoever. His nails were extremely long when he was rescued; that's how they could tell how long he had been in there. Most skiddish, scared-of-everything dog I've ever met. But when we brought him home from the New York Chinook reunion (we already had one other Chinook) he instantly fell in love with us. He lived out his remaining years with some of the best dogs we ever had, including the other Chinook and a Golden Retriever we had. Later on we had greyhounds, and I swear one of them HAD to have been abused, as he was just about as skiddish of everything as the Chinook was. He would even go stick his head into a corner whenever he was spooked, which happened quite easily. Adopt these abused dogs, people. They need good loving homes. Johnny_D
The boy is well loved. He's getting much better as he gets older. He is a working breed lab' as confirmed by our vets. Apparently the working strain is slightly smaller with a bigger chest and jaw. He loves playing and working (as best as we can!).
