Added Niagara Falls to the list of options, courtesy of my dad. Can't believe I hadn't thought of or stumbled upon that one on Google yet. It's high on our list. So is NYC. My dad said we could quite easily drive to either and save a ton instead of flying. He even offered to let us take his brand new Suzuki Grand Vitara. :o

Both of these I think we would enjoy. It would be cooler up north and we would save money by driving.

EW Niagara Falls. The american side is really dingy and not as nice as the canadian side.

Well we would definitely visit the Canadian side, for sure. I remember when I went there as a kid all the good stuff was on the Canadian side, so I don't doubt your statement. ;)

That said, I have planned an itinerary for a Niagara Falls honeymoon and have proposed it to her. We'll see what she says.

I'm not goint to claim to be an expert on NYC but I have been there in the summer and it can be just as hot and miserable as the south. It is also very hard to get around unless you know someone there.

My wife's aunt lives up there and we go to visit sometimes.

Spend a few days there and you will understand why New Yorkers have such a bad attitude.

With that being said, Times Square at night is fun, a ferry ride around the Statue of Liberty could give you chill bumps and you would have the experience of NYC, be it good or bad.

I would suggest not writing off the cruise idea. We cruised to the Bahamas from Jacksonville for our Honeymoon and had a great time. If you can drive to ATL, you should be able to find a reasonable flight from there. We docked in Key West on the way down and spent about a day in Nassau. It was a great time and our budget was way less than yours.

OR, come to chicago. stay at my house. I'll make you guys pancakes for breakfast lunch and dinner (came across a great recipe). I have a swingset in the backyard so that should cover things to do. or you can hang out in the alley. some guy down the block started picking trash out of trash and hanging it up on his garage so its kinda like a museum. i have a car so i could take you guys to the sanitation district where the water is converted from poop water to the cleanest drinking water in the world (not to mention best tasting!) if you guys don't want pancakes, there's a bk lounge up the street. they got a deal going on where you can get a chicken sammich and a whopper for 5 bucks. not bad.

the only thing you'd have to do for me is sing me to sleep. i'll start clearing the floor in my room so you guys can sleep there because i know this is a for sure yes.

Yeah, I heard it can be quite hot there too. Something else to consider...

We haven't written off a cruise. Right now I'm just waiting for Brooke to decide what she wants to do.

Back in my day, chicken sandwiches and whoppers were a dollar.

Tell me about it... good ol' days.

NYC is loads of fun. June should be a good time of year to visit as well - hopefully not too hot! just plan to use the subway, take a taxi from/to airport, and you'll be good!

We have a pretty good itinerary scheduled out. She's really into Broadway shows, so we're going to see a few of those (including Book or Mormon, which I'm pretty excited about). Other things include Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Bronx Zoo, and American Museum of Natural History...
