TheyCallMeDave
Mods, this is the right section, trust me. A social experiment group decided what would happen if they made a fake report, to see how often or how quickly a news group/newspaper/writing team would snatch up a hot story without checking all details. Here's the final result. http://www.wimp.com/gulliblecities/ The purpous? If a dignified and reputable nation such as Australia could play right into the supposed hypothesis of an experiment based on blind news consumerism and untruthful public media, What about America and it's big hookah crisis? How many news networks are reading what they're telecasting? Or writing? How many "studies" about hookah you see on television have truly passed through inspection, with actual results? These are the kinds of things we need to be thinking about and showing to the skeptics.

foxysausage
I love the Australian sense of humour. Such a good point and a brilliant undertaking. Thumbs up big time! I find it so hilarious the way people get riled up when reading articles in newspapers about the silliest things... but when you read the key points of the article... there's either nothing there or it's a 'well, it possibly could be so.' I found out about Krishnamurti recently when I was watching the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. Then I proceeded to Google him and I must say, I'm impressed.
