I don't know what is up with me and this stuff. I have smoked 3 different flavors of Nak before. Double Apple, Apricot, and Peach. When I smoke DA it usually smokes fine and I don't have a problem with it. I smoked Apricot and Peach and they both burned just really.... idk hot? They didn't taste as good as I wanted them to. I hear so many good things about Nak and this is kind of killing the experience for me. So maybe I am doing something wrong? How do you guys pack Nak? I have been using a small phunnel with coco's. Thanks for the help.

i just use a regular egyptian bowl, pack it down a bit. you dont want to fluff this stuff. how many coals did you use? im not a fan of their apricot but i love both nak peach and nak mizo peach. they are kinda like a spiced peach sorta. try using a regular egyptian bowl if you have one and pack it a little more densely and let me know how it goes. i smoke mostly nak and sometimes tang with a little af every now and then. good luck!

EDIT: forgot to say, nak is a brand that is more traditional, so it is more so tobacco with a little flavoring versus a lot of other brands that are flavoring with a little tobacco, know what i mean?

EDIT#2: god damn, i am fast. responded to this shit in like 2 minutes Edited by IainUM

i use a mid size clay bowl , never tried apricot and dont like the peach ... but Two Apples Nak is definitely the tobacco i've smoked the most in my hookah career . i take out the stems , fine cut it and mix it by hand , sprinkle over the top and doulbe foil it .

i use 1 QL tablet which heats up about a quarter of the surface area , then move it once .

i get good smoke with Nak DA , but its alot more intense and buzzy than the usual "jordan" tobacco i smoke .

Again, all this advice is great. If using a phunnel, make sure you pack this shit tighter than (insert explicit joke here). It obviously works best in a Egyptian, however. I will say that it can work fine in both, just best in an Egyptian.

Coal usage is all opinion. I know Hassouni likes to use three nats and a windcover, I find this to be a tad too much. Three without windcover, or two and with windcover for me.

Bottom line, fluffy packing is a no no. Tight tight tight. Many people like to ove rpack as well.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I'll definitely try an Egyptian bowl later tonight. Only reason I used a phunnel was because I'm so used to using it I just pack everything in it.

@Iain: I usually use 3 cocos.

pack it tight and make a fairly small amount of medium to large sized holes all the way down through the shisha. then 3 cocos rotated frequently about 45 degrees or pi/4 radians.
