cloudmaster89
For all of you vortex bowl lovers out there, there is a vortex bowl that is bigger than the model currently available. It is called the Jay Jay Vortex bowl. It is sold on this site. http://shisha-king.d...products_id=948 I don't think you can buy it if you live outside of Germany. I saw somebody from EDIT had some, but I don't know how to get my hands on it. Please help. Thanks, Greg Edited July 3, 2011 by INCUBUSRATM "Hookah-Pro.com" which links to a vendor we've banned in the past? Strange things are afoot at HF... Chreees
I'm not quite sure why anyone would want a larger Vortex bowl, much less a Vortex bowl at all. But that's just my opinion, as I prefer the phunnel design. Eric of Tangiers, the man who created the phunnel bowl, actually created the Vortex design first, but he tossed it and stuck with the phunnel design instead. There's gotta be a reason for this. Epoch
I actually think these Vortexes look rather nice. Have a much more hand made look to them as opposed to all the machine-pressed Vortex bowls I'm used to. I kinda want one of these.
Stuie
Love the look. I think it's better, it doesn't look conical deep more flat on the bottom, probably an all around better smoke.
dizzbizz
I agree, these looks really cool. They also look like they would smoke better too.
dizzbizz
Regarding the OP's question, have you tried just ordering it? I'm sure the company will be fine shipping to the US. Email them or something. But will you be fine paying the crazy shipping cost on a $14 bowl to get it here?
Bawhee
I saw they had tangiers listed under their tobacco and was so happy that I could order it from europe, then I clicked it and it said article unavailable

cloudmaster89
Vortex bowls are so much better. You do not need to have the stupid mod on there. Phunnel bowls get the foil stuck in the center. And on top of that you can get ash down the big wide open hole. that's why in my opinion a vortex bowl is better and the man from that site responded to my email and he's gonna set up the order.
I'm not quite sure why anyone would want a larger Vortex bowl, much less a Vortex bowl at all.

if you know what you are doing and have an actual tangiers phunnel or an HJ mini alien phunnel, it is MUCH harder to set it up where the foil pulls into the center. on those bowls the spire is lower than the rest of the bowl. on the cheaper knock-offs they are much more inconsistant. also they are made of inferior ingredients that dont hold heat as well as the tangiers or hj mini's. i have smoked out of both a good phunnel, a bad knockoff phunnel, and a vortex, so i have experience with all of them

Who says you need a mod on the phunnel? My phunnel bowls have never had the foil get stuck over the center spire. But then again, I've only used the authentic Tangiers phunnels. I hear this is only a major issue with the knock-off Chinese phunnels, as Iain mentioned. Ash goes down the middle hole? Not for me, but I don't poke holes in the foil over the center hole... And if it did anyway, it wouldn't be an issue or cause any ill effect- it would just go into the water. And is it just me or does this Jay Jay Vortex bowl look similar to an HJ Alien Mini in the way that it flares out on the bottom? Wonder if these are more durable (better made) than the regular Vortex bowl.

I will take it that you have never used one, or you wouldn't have said that. As for being better, when the inventor himself throws away one prototype in favour of another, you really can't argue it.
