Twit
Hi all, Thank you for viewing this, question from a new guy (I did view the sticky topics regarding FAQ's). Bought a small hookah a couple of months ago and have been smoking without incident. Tonight I received my new hookah. A Khali Mamoon Ice Gold...... So far everything seems to be working great other than the fact that the base is not at all level (my construction level agrees the base is FAR from level!. This causes the upper section to wobble constantly. Ive only had it for an hour or so, is my hookah defective in need of return? Thank you for any help / support. Will post a picture here in a few. MichaelLCP
Yeah post a picture if you can. Khalil Mamoon hand makes all their hookahs. Including the vases. So it isn't unusual to have a crooked vase. Mine is not level either, but it isnt horrible. Just insert your stem so that it is straight.
Twit
Thank you for the quick response Michael. Not only crooked but wobbles really bad. MichaelLCP
See how mine is crooked as well? Try to angle your stem like I have mine. About the wobble... I'm not sure whats going on there. Twit
Not sure if it will help but let me try to provide as much detail as possible. I received 2 pieces that seal the base but only used one. (the one on the left is just to show you, not in use) am I a mistaken newb? Should that piece also be in there? trying to determine if the wobble is user error. MichaelLCP
hmmmm. Never seen someone use 2 gaskets... Have you tried the other one? Edit: Also try maybe using both? I use one but it is very thick so It makes for a tight seal.
Coleman
I can see part of the base is not level just by looking at it man, the base is the part tilting, contact the company you got it from

They are hand blown. None of the vases are perfect.
Travis
Whoever you bought it from should have matched it with the proper gasket. Get one like this, theyre a bit tighter, but provide a better seal, and allows you some breathing room as far as titling the stem to make it appear level. dizzbizz
Do you put ice in the ice chamber? It can be top heavy and wobble because it vibrates as you take a pull, also if the grommet isnt very tight it'll have more play and allow the stem to wobble that much more. I had a KM Pharonie that was also crooked, but it didn't wobble very much. I'd say look into a new base and/or better grommet. If you don't get a new base it will still be crooked, but with a better fitting grommet it shouldn't wobble very much.
