Moose
I've never had a problem with my shisha from them, but I bought a cheap replacement hose, and it's given out after less than a month (and this time it wasn't my fault). And of course, no returns. Besides, they overcharged for everything but shisha, though I've only bought an extra bowl and hose (in addition to the original hookah)

Is there another store so you never have to go again? I wonder if talking to the manager, owner would do any good?
Arcane
I technically see nothing wrong with this situation, coming from your vantage point. 1. You knew the hose was cheap 2. You knew they overcharged 3. You decided to buy anyways. If it was an uninformed consumer, then I could sympathize a bit.

ChicagoRSX
I can sympathize with ya, my local place charged me 8 bucks for 2 grommets. All you can do is accept it and decide never to do business with them again. Keep you purchases to sites like the ones mentioned on this forum. Cp44
where in VA are you located and whats the name of the lounge? You might want to post a review about them in the Hookah lounges and shops in the Virginia section too.
TheyCallMeDave
Moose, No one is putting you down for your purchase, or this thread, there are just things you have to keep in mind. There's always that feeling of buyer's hype when you think "I could probably get something better from a better establishment, but I really want a ____ now! Ah, what the hell." I feel as if this was the case. Even for someone who isn't fully versed in hookah, sometimes you just know when somethign isn't right, but you buy it anyways. Although I don't really have any sympathy, I do have a large amount of empathy, seing as we have all made that fatal mistake at one point in our lives, hookah or not. Lesson learned. Moose
Alrighty, tomorrow I'm going to go to Home Depot and get some water tubing, I'll use the ends of my first hose, as I liked it slightly better. But for now they serve me almost unwillingly, being connected by... a bendy straw for a quick smoke. Poor, poor degraded hose ends...
Chreees
Yes, ignore my post >_>
No one was ignoring your post. Dizz and I were merely agreeing with what Jay said. We feel that there's really not much for you to complain about. Those hoses are cheap and awful in the first place. I can understand how it only lasted a month. A month later, after the hose has been used, the lounge shouldn't have to replace it. Now you know better and will never make the mistake again. Truth is, most lounges are like this. They only sell cheap junk and also usually serve cheap junk because, well, it's cheap for them! Only thing you can do is not go back. That is your way of showing them they suck. A good lounge wouldn't have sold you that hose in the first place. But, unfortunately, the cheap junk sells, as it's what most new hookah smokers buy. Go look at some of the main vendors' sites. They have the good hookahs and whatnot, such as Khalil Mamoon and Mya Saray, but they also have the cheap Inhale ones as well. Why do these experienced hookah smokers/business men who know it's junk sell the crap anyway? Because it sells. New hookah smokers typically aren't going to pay $100+ for a KM or Mya when they can buy a ~$20 Pumpkin. That's why the crap sells and why the hookah vendors we know and love sell it. We just have to work hard to make sure the newbies are educated. Hopefully they come here first and do research before they buy. It sounds like that's what you should have done in your situation. But don't feel too bad, because as Dave said, we have all made the mistake of buying the cheap junk before we knew any better. So don't be upset, just learn from it and move on and educate your friends so they don't make the mistake. Not much you can do about the places that sell the junk; they're always going to because there's always going to be people who don't do their research. king_lunchb0x
im sure most of us have done that. Most shops i have been to in my area charge lots for one item but less for another. I buy my Af and Nak from one place, then buy my coals and hoses from another. Trial and error. now you know what not to get their.
Moose
Yeah, I really wish I'd done some shopping around before I bought my first hookah from there x_x Home made hose is made, but the piping is stiffer than I'd like. The Instructable told me to run water through it and stretch it out. That helped some, but anyone got any other tips? Or am I just going to have to wait for it to become loser with time? Skoozle
I don’t think it will loosen up with time. Flexing them around with hot water seemed to work the best for me but the ones I made are still too stiff and I don't really use them anymore. As long as your hookah is stable enough, it will serve its purpose untill you can get a new hose.
Venger
heard if you put it in boiling water that will loosen it some.
Moose
Went to another hookah place twenty miles north. Much better selection, much better prices. Got some Nakhla (250g of Cola) for $7, and an Al Fakher washable hose (their only washable... at least they had one x_x)
