Stuie
So what movies have you seen that no one seems to have heard of that you thought were amazing? I am a movie/netflix addict now. So here are some of mine and give me some of yours. Chaos Theory (2007) - Staring Ryan Reynolds. I was bored a couple years ago and rented it. Hilarious!!!! How to Kill Your Neighbor's Dog (2001) - Staring Kenneth Branagh. Still one of my top 10 movies, mostly because the lead character is the completely mental. Brain Candy (1996) - Starring the Kids in the Hall. A lot more people have seen that I expected but it's not always appreciated. SLC Punk (1999) - Starring Matthew Lillard. I even got IV to watch this movie and it's great, even if you aren't a punk lover! Bottle Rocket (1996) - Starring Owen & Luke Wilson. Wes Anderson's first and still one of his funniests. The Last Man on Earth (1964) - Starring Vincent Price. Everyone forgets this was the first "Last Man" move, way before Omega Man. Adam Resurrected (2008) - Staring Jeff Goldbloom & Willem Dafoe. One of the movies I just couldn't turn off.
IainUM
mystery science theater 3000 the movie basically there was a show called mystery science theater 3000 (MST3K) where they took terrible terrible movies and the three main characters just make fun of the movie the whole time. im talking terrible like c-level movies that were cheap to make and included terrible casting/acting and it is all just hilarious. the movie is basically an extension of the show but with a bit more production value in the parts before they play the terrible movie and it also got a lot more exposure since it was in theaters as opposed to on comedy central or sci-fi channel. watch it, love it, thank me
Zildjian
Behind the Mask: The Legend of Leslie Vernon: Kind of a neat dark comedy about a real life horror villain Sex and Death 101: Not a bad comedy, originally watched it because Patton Oswalt has a small part in it Big Fan: Speaking of Patton Oswalt, SEE THIS FKIN MOVIE!!! He does brilliant acting and it's not a comedy. Excellent movie X Games The Movie: This was originally IMAX I believe, so it's GORGEOUS. Also, just really cool to watch these nut jobs do amazing stuff in the air. There are also a lot of documentaries that are great

TheyCallMeDave
ExsistenZ - Jude Law and some chick I can't remember play in a WEIRD ass movie about using bio"pods" as links into a virtual world. Thught it was alright, but definantly made you think and cringe at the same time. A pleasant little guest role from William Defoe as well! VideoDrome - Starring James Woods, this movie is just weird. It's actually better if I don't tell you what it's about, and you be as shocked as I was. Jacob's Ladder - Another strange movie with Tim Robins suffering from severe Hallucinations. Very interesting movie. DreamCatcher: I don't care what ANYONE thinks, this was a good Steven King book and an awesome movie. And the number one unknown movie that was surprisingly kickass goes tooooo.......................... This Is England: A story about skinheads, a neo-nazi attitude on English Nationalism, racism and a brotherhood tearing a young child who was thrown into the mix apart. This movie, is AWESOME. Highly recommend it.
TheyCallMeDave
Highly honorable mention in conjunction with my last post: Henry Poole Is Here: For all I know, this has won awards out the ass. The reason it's on the list is because apart from the one time my friends and I watched it, it disappeared off the face of the map. Anywho, this movie needs to be watched. Luke Wilson plays a cynical hermit who lives in his California home. When a woman sees what she believes to be a reincarnation/sign of Jesus Christ on the wall, Henry has to fight off hoards of people trying to bless, worship and pray to the water stain on the side of his house. What sounds like a dumb comedy is actually very heartfelt and full of meaning. VERY enjoyable to watch, extremely recommend.

Scrappydoo
"The Upside of Anger" leaves you with your jaw open at the end (it did me anyway). "Stranger than Fiction" with Will Farrell is awesome, all the way thru the movie there is this little voice saying 'no way....!" My favorite movie of all time is A FEW GOOD MEN, my daughter teases me that we can both say all the lines, practically beginning to end! Normally I don't like to watch movies more than once. Both are good, and the remake is at times a shot-for-shot remake of the original, but In a lot of ways the original felt more mysterious and frightening.
Most people don't believe me when I tell them this is my favorite movie. It's seriously just an amazingly well-crafted movie with an outstanding cast and a brilliant, yet simple, story. It hits on a lot of themes, and, in general, is just a good movie to make me feel better on shitty days. Absolutely, without question, watch this movie. Also, here's a few (keeping in mind that I'm predominantly a sci-fi nerd): -The Man From Earth - This movie is extremely dialogue heavy, but it's worth the tediousness. -Primer - Hands down the best movie about time travel that I have ever seen. (After you watch it, google "Primer Timeline" and prepare to have your mind blown. -Solaris (1972) - An anti-thesis to 2001: A Space Odyssey. At times it is really slow moving, and dated feeling, but it really has a profound effect, and in it's own way, is deeply moving. -Moon - Just a really great sci-fi movie -City Of God - A movie about growing up, following your own path, war, love, etc etc. It's awesome. -Sleep Dealer - A look into what the future might hold in regards to the borders and foreign labor. Good inde sci-fi

Arcane
I just watched Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. It's a documentary about drinking nothing but fruit and vegetable juice for a set period of time, to detox the body and give it a sort of reboot. Now, the actual premise of the documentary is a laugh, imo. But, I would watch this movie again and again for the last half of the movie. I really don't want to say anything about the movie except if you do decide to watch, suffer through the first half of the movie because it makes last half more than worth it. In fact, I may just watch it again...right now! Go Phil!

Dr. B
The Believer. It's about a Jewish neo-nazi and... just watch it. The nuances in the writing make it great when you realize that motifs develop from seemingly unimportant dialogue. It's gritty (think like American History X) so be prepared. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0247199/
