So much for evolution eh?

WE DO NOT HAVE CANINE TEETH!!! We have two canine in a mouth full of herbivore teeth. look at a cat's teeth, look at a dog's teeth. THEY have canine teeth, are all your front teeth pointy and sharp?

Might I suggest adding Pescetarian to the poll?

Been a vegetarian for almost 10 years (since I was 12). Switched from being Pescetarian to Lacto-Ova within the last three or four.

I started off with this whole mentality of saving the animals from cruel slaughterhouse fates... I've since learned that my actions do nothing, but since I enjoy my diet to this day, I see no reason to go back to eating meat. I at least like the principle behind it.

I would love to live in a world where I could raise chickens for my own eggs (I don't drink much milk, as I seem to be somewhat lactose-intolerant), but I don't think I could ever go full-vegan.

OK I will add Pescetarian!

Did you read the article? Actually most of the article (at least the first portion and the initial chart) debunks the natural omnivore argument. I'm not against meat, far from it. But via article the omnivore argument was already challenged pretty concisely.

This is a great article, thanks for posting it! I like where it says "meat eaters will fight the evidence because they don't want to stop doing something they enjoy."

Very interesting, I still say I am Human, not an animal. I live in a house, not the wild. I mate for life.

To me comparing humans and animals is apples and oranges. Just saying.

There is truth to that. I am sure. I will never give up meat, I love it too much. But will you give up smoking too, it's not good for us either.

Humans are essentially animals. The house, mating, work, stress....that's how our species has evolved to live. It's not apple and oranges by any stretch of imagination.

I myself eat meat from time to time.....I posted the article as a reply to a comment which said we are meant to eat only meat since we have canine teeth.

Sure I read the article. It was obviously written by a vegan! People want to eat rabbit food thats their business. I just hate it when they wear the vegan lifestyle like a badge of honor as if their choice makes them better than me. I don't like snobs. Eat what you want! Just keep your morality outta my dinner plate!

IM gonna sit here and say this, I have been vegetarian and I have been an omnivore. DONT JUDGE PEOPLE. if they want to be a vegetarian let them, dont generalize and say all vegetarians look unhealthy or vice versa. take it from someone who has seen how the other lives

 • 1 month later...
I have been reading and watching a lot of stuff on food lately. I have come to a strange decision.

A think I may give a vegetarian eating a try. Semi Modified at least.

Based on some eveything I have read and seen and based on my lifestyle. A change should be made.

Shortly I am going to do a 10 day juice fast and continue juicing as a part of my daily routine focusing more on consuming fruits and veggies less meat and carbs.

The question I have for you vegans is 1 what was the hardest thing for you to give up assuming you chose to become vegan. I don't think I can do with out just the sensation of meat in my mouth ?

By the way more power to you all I wish I had that dedication.

LOL

I read that article, it didn't do anything to change my mind. (I especially didn't like the bit about catfood as an example that cats can eat grains and vegies. Not really. The reason dogs chow down at the cat turd buffet is because cats don't digest well the fillers. The rise in feline diabetes is probably due to less meat in their diets. I have to give Klea - our tabby - insulin 2x a day.)

I am a meat eater. When I hit a deer with my step father's truck (only broke a headlight) I got the cop who showed up to help me load it into the back of the truck (and then called my vegiterian friend - who was dating a hunter - for a deer butcher). I thanked the deer for providing me with meat (before the cop showed or he might have taken me away lol) and had the hide preserved.

BF and I belong to a CSA so we eat more vegies during the farming season. BF said tonight (over Indian take out) that if he was rich he'd go vegitarian if he could hire him (the Indian chef) to do the cooking.

Me? I really don't have a desire to go "vegie". As other people have posted, not everyone is made to go that way. IMO it's like religion or politics - i will respect your choices if you will respect mine. And if you want to debate, sure as long as we keep it civil. Name calling on either side just looses the debate.
