nativer28
So, I've been thinking of getting a 3 or 4 hose rotating hookah, preferably 30+ in. , but I have never personally used one. I was wondering if I could get any suggestions on what I should get, and possibly the pros and cons of this type of hookah. My main hookah right now I've been using for years and it's a bit of a Frankenstein. The only original part of it the base, and I got it all in Israel years ago, so I am not too experienced when it comes to buying hookahs in the US, or in English for that matter. Travis
No....riddle me this, if a hookah has multiple hoses, what's the point of it rotating?
You make a good point, but I don't think I would be exceeding three hoses, and when smoking in large groups I feel like it's a bit aesthetically nicer not having the hoses getting wrapped around the hookah. I've just been on this kick with the idea of a rotating hookah because I saw a really nice looking 4 hose rotator locally the other day. Unfortunately it was in a store so I didn't get to smoke it, but I guess you could say it's been "haunting my dreams."
Epoch
The Nammor rotator gets pretty good marks, but it's only a one hose. http://www.hookah-shisha.com/p-3696-old-school-rotator-nammor-hookah-package.html The others I've checked out don't have great reviews, but I've seen rotator fans out there, so good hunting. antouwan
i never purchased a rotator because of all of the bad things i hear about them. mainly sealing problems and leakage. personally, i'm not a huge fan of multi-hose hookahs, either. multi-hosers are expensive here, and i could imagine that it being a rotator would also increase the price. personally, i would just get a few nice syrians. john has some nours right now for GREAT prices (with the discount). i would get a couple and some hoses to go with them. Starwind
I have a friend who has a rotator that's actually pretty nice but they know nothing about it. It only has 2 hoses. There's no need for rotating 4 hoses.

If I were to get one, it would most likely be a two hose, possibly three because I occasionally smoke in large groups
hookah hippie
I would advise against buying a rotator hookah. I have smoked many of them and only have smoked one that I liked. I would just go with a standard hookah or a multi hose if you prefer. But what do I know, your the one that will be smoking it.

rahl071
rotators, when made improperly (most of the multi-hosed ones are) tend to not seal as well. Also, the first time you wash it, the bearings will start rusting causing it to bind when rotating. This can lead to a rare horizontal-model hookah. We don't like these. Honestly, get a Mya for multi-hose, or a single-hose nammor rotator if you're hell-bent on one.

Kapten Kanel
From my experience, big nono, leaking gets a whole new meaning with rotators, at least from what ive seen. General rule applying to everything is - the less moving parts, the better.
nativer28
Well, I have to say I have been successfully convinced out of buying a rotator... Now I just need to find a fairly large 3 hose hookah that won't empty my wallet
thehelios
I don't know what all the hate on this forum is for rotators but I do understand the hate for 4-hose rotators. I have a 4 hose rotator and when using all 4 hoses, under no circumstance is there EVER a need for the damned thing to rotate, period. Even with 3 hoses connected to it, you can still "strategically" place the hoses to not need the rotating factor. If you want a rotator so badly, just get a single hose. If you're getting 2+, rotators are useless. And if you're concerned about it's use at party's, rotators are quite possibly the worst. If that thing falls off the table, there's a good chance the rotating base will break and you now get a midget hookah.

dizzbizz
Again, if you wants a multihose hookah get a Mya. They have a small 4 hose hookah called the Mono or Vento for 55 dollars. The rotator's ball bearings tend to rust and in turn not allow it to rotate freely. Either a small multi hose Mya or a larger one like my Mya Paragon. Its a beast and classy as hell Might I suggest also, maybe buying two decently priced hookahs. Two hookahs looks a lot cooler than one 4 hose hookah. Rotator hookahs are on the same list as the Idiot Idea, those filtering beads and the shecool bases. It's a product designed to sell well for convenience, because that's what we here MURCANS like. DON'T BUY A ROTATOR. BUY A NICE, STURDY, RELIABLE, BEAUTIFUL, WELL BUILT HOOKAH. That is all.
TheyCallMeDave
....On a more constructive note... Here are some multihose hookahs I would buy if I wanted one. The Khalil Mamoon Party hookah: A bit expensive, but a great brand, good quality, and damn do they look nice! 4 and 3 hose options.. http://hookahjohn.com/Khalil-Mamoon-Party-Hookahs_c30.htm MYA Econo Multi-hosers: These are machine made, top-notch chinese hookahs. Just about the only Chinese hookah I would put against any egyptian/syrian pipe out there. These things are well made, and even the small ones smoke like the 40 inch ones. There is a regular line that has heavier metals and such, I just posted this due to you saying you were looking for something cheaper. (NOTICE: Econo = good value, not cheap) http://www.hookah-shisha.com/c-674-econo-mya-hookahs.html
ilikemyusername
I like the "fat boy" look of a rotator but please, do yourself a favor and don't buy one, they leak like a bitch and they're made out of junk materials. I used to own one, I had to caulk the glass to the steel to produce a nice tight seal but then cleaning and filling was a pita.
