Cleaning hookas...

Recommended Posts

I have two hookas. My first one is a smaller chinese made one. Has worked awesome for what it is. No problems. Seemed very easy to clean. My other new hookah is a syrian I got at tangiers place. Very nice looking but it always has a funny taste and odor. I switched hoses and that seemed to help. It came with cleaning brushes and I have used them but when I smell in the tube it just reaks. Smells like how copper or brass smells when it get that green color. I cannot get it to taste or smell good.My little one I took appart and found that the tube would also unscrew off the base that goes in the vase. I took that appart and found some strange ass crystal like gunk! WTF? I slean them both out well and I didn't even see anything in the little ones tube. It was like large sugar crystals! I cleaned them all out but now I am really turned off at the idea of using either of them for smoking. My tall one just smells and my little one was growing spores or something! Should I take them and clean them both in hot water? Soap? Anyone ever see the crystal stuff in your tube? I dont leave water in either of them when not in use and always take them appart to dry out.Whats wrong with my hookas?

I'd say it sounds like your little hookah is doing cocaine, and the big one is smoking pot.You need to straighten them out before they're totally gone./bored

Everyone always says lemon juice and water for cleaning em out; its probably worth a shot. And unless the crystals are where you inhale from they'd probably come off in the water.

Go with the 1:1 lemon juice:water concentrate. Works well. Also ive heard a 1:10 vinegar:water works well, though I feel like it would leave an unpleasant taste.

It takes the odd smells away and does not leave any vinegar smell/taste at all.
