ilikemyusername
My response. By Ilikemyusername I've smoked 80 cigarettes in one night. I've smoked 4 shisha bowls in one night. I know how I felt the next day.
vendetta_revived
seems like he doesn't seem to know that people mix all kinds of NHT in hand rolled cigarettes too. It may not be the majority of the people smoking cigs, but even the tiny percentage of cig smokers that do it would easily surpass almost all hookah smokers - the ones that do it and the ones that don't. Plex
"Since you ask questions posing as a researcher"

If you want to 'come up to our level'
I think he is smoking something... and it isn't shisha. Dense cloud of arrogance. It may convince himself that he is "special"... but that's about it.
shisha has the right to be considered a seperate entity - i.e. the ease with which illegal drugs can be mixed with tobacco + reduced harm perception
Irrelevant, broken logic.
Scientific proof is strength in numbers, and your number is 1. So it's not particularly useful for this conversation.
A single sample can be very relevant--it can be enough to disprove a theory!
I figure... I am not going to respond.
Yeah, it is pointless. Are there any other people responding on that forum with more constructive thoughts? ChildoftheHorn
Hmm... I would like to throw out there that people who are into this hobby (more than the occasional hookah lounge) generally have money. That money generally comes from being educated. My degree is in computer engineering, from a Top Ten school. I was an NSF scholar, Pfizer Solutia scholar, and High School Valedictorian. MY smoking buddies graduated top of their class at this institution including Bio-Med Eng. and Pre-Meds studying at Wash. U. and Harvard ATM for their Doc. We have blown into Nic testers just an hour after smoking and seen 0.00. The carbon monoxide you refer to is usually because of idiots lighting Quick Light coals on their bowl and inhaling before they turn red. People who use Natural Coals only see a very small CO level increase while the coals light and no detectable CO on standard house meters even near the coals once lit. The quicklight coals are another matter entirely and give me a headache (sign of CO). It isn't doing anyone any favors and I cannot smoke a cig without choking after 4.5 years of hookah smoking. I recently had blood work done the morning after sharing a 2 hour session with another person. Nicotine did not even show up on the result and as part of my physical, my air capacity/lung strength was well above normal (I sing and play an instrument with no issues). The truth is that there is a lot of money being thrown around to condemn hookah and no large party to oppose it. HAMBURGERS don't do anyone much good, but sometimes you just want one. Some things are worth the risk and quite frankly a life without pleasure is no life at all. 3VO Winning!
