Ain Soph Aur
I use a hacksaw. Romman lemon coals are the best.
joetuo
I just got some of these and had a real hard time lighting them on my stove Any suggestions on a different way I could light them?
Scalliwag
Halon used a torch on mine and had one going in 28 seconds. Others were having trouble using hot plates. His method was the quickest so far.
joetuo
Hmm a torch, I have one of them torch lighters, but probably would run out of butane before the coal is lit....looks like im going to menards for a torch.
EvansLight
from my limited experience with em, i find that a nice torch that you can buy in most places that have cooking supplies (torch you see chefs using to carmalise sugar on top of things). Friend had some Romman coals, and thats what he uses. 45 seconds to fully light one coal.
Ain Soph Aur
I use the little burner on the side of my BBQ. Its like a little gas stove burner. Takes about 5 minutes.

Ruddigger
Do they produce a lot of smoke for you guys (by themselves, not on a hookah)? I've tried to use them twice, but I freak out when I see lots of white smoke coming out, so I just put them out and use something else.

Teh Owntt
Make sure the Romman coals are all the way lit before trying to use them. Otherwise the smoke taste awful.
