lowoncreativity
Hey all, I'm looking for a little info on this brand of herbal shisha. See attached pic. I have had very little luck searching in English for a homepage or manufacturer info. All I keep finding is the guy I bought it from. Maybe someone who can search in Arabic would have a little more luck. It is stamped "Made in Egypt". It may be associated with Nakhala in some fashion, based on the package design. The DA pack for this stuff looks exactly like Nak DA. The importer also sells exclusively Nakhala tobacco on his web store. Is it possible Nakhala has an herbal sub-brand not widely available outside of Egypt? Anyway, if anyone knows anything about this brand, or can find something on google, etc: Primarily I would like to know what the fibrous material is. I have some health concerns about bagasse and am hoping this is made from something different. The English translation on the package reads "natural leaves", but I am doubtful of the translation accuracy. Secondarily, a link to a flavor catalogue or manufacturer's store would be great, since the guy I bought it from only stocks 4 flavors and this stuff is pretty good for herbal. Thanks in advance! Chreees
Wait for Hassouni or Antouwan to chime in. They are our resident Arabic translators. When I first saw your thread title, I thought you were trying to say "lol wut" in a different, unique way.

TheyCallMeDave
I too thought you were confused on al waha, and decided it'd be a good pun to al wahat (which would have been rep point worthy). Not sure, I see what you mean by the similarity in packaging. IF THE HASS NEEDS A BIGGER PIC, IT HAS BEEN DECREED.
lowoncreativity
Here is a bigger pic. Hopefully the similarity to Nak is more apparent now too. Will make another post with another pic cuz im too lazy to resize it again.

TheyCallMeDave
Wow, that does look a lot like nak's DA backgrund/packaging. I wonder how far you can go with package emulation before it becomes somethign nak can sue for...
Hassouni
First off, in Arabic this would be pronounced Al-Waha also. It just means "oasis" If you want the linguistics lesson, read here, if not, skip to the next line break: the -a at the end of "waha" is actually a special form of T, which is only pronounced as a T in certain context, and when on its own is always pronounced as an A/Ah/Eh. For example, Nakhla in Arabic is written N-KH-L-T*, with the T* representing the letter I just described. As for the box up there, it's funny, it shows three apples but then in Arabic it says "Two apples flavor". Otherwise, it says it's produced by the Alexandria Company for Imports, Exports, and Commercial Agencies, along with some random drivel about it being made with the finest fruit etc. It says nothing in Arabic about actual ingredients or contact info or anything
Epoch
So it looks like Nakhla, claims to be Al-Waha, yet is neither? Madness.
lowoncreativity
Any luck with Arabic Google, Hass? It's like the maker's of this stuff are trying to remain anonymous. "The Alexandria Company" in Egypt, gee, it ought to be easy to track that down. Makes me nervous to keep smoking it. The shisha itself is very, very finely cut. It doesn't look anything like the pictures of Soex I have seen so it may not be bagasse... No stems though, what kind of natural plant has no stems? Hassouni
I highly doubt anything coming out of the Arab world is anything besides tobacco, by the way
lowoncreativity
Well, thanks for the effort. Regarding your other post, I really doubt it is tobacco; unless maybe the nicotine has been removed by some chemical process, explaining the weird cut. The flavor is just not as good as the real stuff (though the smoke clouds certainly are), and there is no buzz. I think I'll try and contact the guy I bought it from. I have refrained so far because I don't really trust him. He'll just tell me what I want to hear so I keep buying, and there'd be no way for me to prove otherwise. Anyhow, if he tells me anything of note, I'll post it back up here. Otherwise, I guess we're done here.
