sensae
I've been on a quest to get Tangiers OG to smoke well for the last few months, and after about 500 grams of experimenting I found the right packing and heat management techniques for some of the drier flavors, I had Cinnamon and Tropical Revenge. I ordered some Tangiers OG Horchata, and juicy is an understatement. I legitimately cannot pack it like I packed the Cinnamon or Mixed Fruit, I can only get about 75% of what's 'normal' in the bowl, any more than that and the juice comes up the sides, out the bowl and down the stem in massive quantities. The bowls I've had were a bit flavorless, but not bad. My question to all of you is this: Avid Tangiers smokers, how do you adjust for an extremely juicy batch of Tangy? MichaelLCP
If the juices are coming up over the sides and down the stem, you are most likely over packing your bowl. Try to pack a little less next time and see how that works.
Arcane
Some flavors contain more components (i.e. more juice). Go through the same process, just don't pack as dense.
TheyCallMeDave
If you are using a phunnel, try to avoid packing slanted. Some people get into a habit of packing down towards the spire, or down from the spire. Make sure you're level and completely flush with the rim. Again, the above is great advice, just something else to think about.
sensae
Thanks for the input. Tonight I tried packing it much looser than I would drier Tangiers, up to the spire of my phunnel. I actually had very, very good results.
